iRobot Scooba experience

My problem was getting them to deliver to my shipping address, they wrote back to say they don’t deliver to a freight forwarded. Was using CGW the last time, applied for a Citibank card just so I can try ordering using Borderlinx’s concierge service… Things I do just to get out of mopping the floor….

Anyone with other suggestions let me know. Else have to wait till next year when my wife is going there for training… not sure if they’ll deliver to hotel too…

then too bad hsn.com really banned us, have to wait for woot.com offer.

You will pay much more if you purchase locally, but you get the local warranty. Importing a scooba (mopper), there will be a risk of it being faulty on arrival. I think most of us here have taken that risk and have been mostly happy with what we have gotten.

I tried Borderlinx’s concierge service last month - also kanna rejected by HSN! Was so fustrated trying, waiting, then kanna rejected, then outofstock... and try again, rejected again
So in the end brought mine from newegg.com at US$349, which comes with 2 virtual walls and a base charger.
More ex - but worth every cents since it was delivered to me. No more spending my precious weekend time and energy cleaning the house. I had my roomba to vacuum the floor and scooba to mop.
I spend more quality time with my family.....

i've recently obtained a roomba 550 export set from usa. may i know specifically what step down transformer to buy and where i should buy it from? i've just been to homefix and bought a 80w powerpac ac/ac transformer 'international dual voltage converter' but after reading this thread, i'm quite sceptical about using it.

would appreciate any advise. thanks!

Congrats on being a Roomba owner! Just FYI, this thread has been discussed many times b4. U might like to use the Search This Thread function for some recommended step down transformers. Basically, brands like Newstar, Super, etc. with a rating of 80W and above should do fine. I'll recommend u go with the 100/120W version as there is room for expansion should u add another bot in future.

There quite a number of newstar transformer at IMM branch. I went there last week, but prices are not as cheap as last year.

150w one selling at abt $33.

IMM giant selling 80w one, but I guess it's better to get 100w and above one.

Make a trip down to Sim Lim Tower, u'll get to see all kinds of transformers there. U'll have brands like Newstar, Super, etc. at decent pricing. If u are willing to splurge, there's even those high quality industrial type available.

Pls guide me, I'm utterly confused by the models and pricings. Looking for:
1 Roomba for 3 bedrooms apartment, maybe split the work into 2 passes.
1 Scooba for kitchen, living (not bedrooms as the bedroom flooring may be problem).

I'm looking to buy from US, and hand-carry it back to SG, which site which model suitable? Don't need fancy scheduling, just basic switch on before I leave the home and come back to clean floors? The dimensions seem to differ, any models that can go under the 5" H base of my cabinets without getting stuck? Will this gadget knock my light chairs about?

What other spare parts should I buy at the same time, I read about bald brushes, dead batteries and unavailable Clorox?

cheesepie... i bought a $30 transfromer from selffix.... was charging my roomba... after 16 hours ... still fine... then i let the roomba start work... awhile later my wife say the docking no more light.... i set the transformer to lo ( 0 - 50W )....

$30 so laupok ! =( now my adapter fuse kaput..... need to buy need 1.. any1 gt lobang for US Set adapter ?

you should have at least set the transformer to power at 2x wattage of the power required by roomba or scooba.

That's why i always said to buy at least a 100w transformer.

I had used that for abt 1.5yrs. Roomba + scooba power adapter still working fine.
