i have a roomba 560 from US.. was using transformers but accidentally put wrong voltage. the adaptor let out loud sound and sparks... will it spoilt my charge base?

looking to buy localized roomba 5xx series adaptor .. anywhere/one to recommend ?

capacitor explode liao, power adapter spoilt already.

yes you just buy a new power adapter or ask somebody to repair.

Thanks. thinking of getting one for parents but the marble flooring i think some places might have some pit holes. they never do the top protection at all after moving in. 10yrs old marble hehe

I wonder whats wrong with local distributor. Is Singapore distributor seling the 380 model. Last i know is dont but i am not sure if they bring it in now

The Scooba 385 is their 380. They bring in UK set so it's 385, Roomba 560 is their 563.

local disti is kill people, put fire type one.

1) lousy service.

2) overcharging.

3) don't know how to repair.

think i had commented previously this to be 1 of the cons of shopping in ebay.

its not so much a problem of non-US paypal but more of refusal to deal with non-confirmed paypal account ya?

ya those angmoh like very scare or something. they die die want confirmed paypal account. i think to get it confirmed is to add a credit card n the address is the same as the billing address. i have tried another account US address and when i click ship to this address, it turns out as unconfirmed address. tsktsk. luckily no issue bcause i order from Robot Addon for the accessories.

$300 for a CHARGER WOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. But i see my scooba online sell also not cheap for a whole bundle of external charger. Also abt this price right after conversion.

was checking out scooba battery and this is what i read from a review at irobot.com

I read all these negative reviews on the battery dying quickly and want to give my advice. My battery is 3yrs old; I use my scooba 4 tankfuls each week and the battery still keeps a charge to clean a full tank on a single charge. My secret is I don't leave the battery in the scooba charging all the time. I charge my battery just before I use it and remove it from the charger/scooba until I use it. Because the battery will self discharge slowly, I don't recharge immediately after use and I use the battery immediately or within 3hrs of being fully charged. Even the constant tiny trickle charge will overcharge the battery, which is the number 1 reason the battery dies so quickly. I know the instruction says to leave it on the charger for best battery life but I think it overcharges the battery. My 3 yr old battery is proof my method works. My battery is still wearing out since I use to get over 2 full tanks of cleaning but at least it still cleans a tankful unlike many people's battery who report only 10 minutes after 8 months.

I use this same principle on all my rechargeable batteries and get same results. I have a 4yr old electric-start self propelled lawn mower battery, 5yr old rechargeable AA, AAA, C, D batteries, 3yr drill batteries -- all going strong.
