Got a roomba 550 from ebay for US220
Go for it with borderlinx. 550 and 560 not much difference and you fot 2 more extra filters.

The remanufacted 560 is a good deal but you might be unlucky like 1 of the bro here who got one with "circle of death" problem right out of the box. If you reside in america, you can easily get replacement from iRobot but......you are in SG.

But I heard that Borderlinx will open up the package to check? Also, Irobot got battery inside... will that be an issue?
Anybody successfully shipped irobot over?

I can put my head on the chop board and gaurantee you they will not open. I had pleaded them by all means and they refused to open and repack for me before. I bought a US$40 item and the shipping is US$120. I almost wanted to dump the item there.

Your battery is inside the machine and they will not open it up. If you are worried, buy 560 from me :s13: you don't even need to buy transformer with my roomba, it's 240v ready ;)

500series abit X on my budget......if i use it for living hall & then let it charge b4 using on the bedrooms, shd be sufficient, rite?

If you go thru 2 charges for hall and bedrooms, i think it will definitely be sufficient. Having said that, u have to consider it is an older model and i think the local AD has been keeping stock for some time and I heard the 4 series does have a shorter batt life and take longer to charge. Need someone to confirm that though.

Another reason most of us in this thread don't buy fr local AD is that their markup is very high, plus the extra you pay doesn't guarantee u good after-sales. i.e. if you were to run into problems, don't expect too much technical expertise fr them. Warranty - imo is one key diff (besides budget) for me to decide whether to diy my order or go thru AD. Hope this helps. :)

no way. i wish they would open and then repackage but they won't.

as long as you're not shipping battery only, it's ok. batteries that accompany items can be shipped.

vpost will not ship even it's battery complements.

haha.... yea that's just perception.

Look back the post here, one bro got a 530 that is defective out of the box. However I am not stating that REMANUFACTURED box is not good. It is still a steal to save US$100. It's whether you are lucky or not. You might get a defective one even if it is a new set and I have one customer who send a brand new set for me for repair.

ya, it might be faulty, but there's always you for repairs ma. so why worry right? ;) heh.... what's the worst case? buy another one lo. i think even if you buy another, still cheaper than buying one from local AD le.

i got the 415 locally which come with 3 hr charger. the black battery provided is just nice to clean the living room before it die off. Take note the provided black battery cmi, can only last abt 45min-60min, after abt 7mth run time decrease to abt 30 min
the blue battery which i purchase from USA irobot is much better.
Going strong coming to 9mth lasting abt 50-60min each round.

IMO, get the yellow battery if you have roomba415 to clean up to 3 bedroom

I don't know about vpost able to ship irobot or not but I know some people ship in before using their service.

Just like to highlight that if your item get stuck because they refused to ship, you would end up paying a lot more. Happened to me before when I bought Zaino car polish using vpost and they refuse to ship stating that it's flammable goods. I stated to them that borderlinx ship before but they stand firm. In the end I ask them to relocate the item to borderlinx and kenna carrot by them. They billed me $65(US -US) to ship to borderlinx and borderlinx ship to me without any hesitation at a only $40+ (international shipping).

Lesson learnt: never send anything overseas via Singpost (especially to US) if timing is critical. I sent a Christmas gift to a friend in US last Christmas via Singpost registered mail. The Singpost staff assured me that the item will arrive within 7 to 8 days. I sent the item 9 days before Christmas. My friend received the item just the day before New Year!!!
