If I remember correctly your battery pack is the yellow APS NiMH right? If it is the black Nicd I still can help you to revive it.
Hi Jubooo,
Mine is the black Nicd, how to revive the battery life?
It involves shorting it to fully discharge it first. There would be spark, u also need a voltmeter & probably a 12V car battery. If you have all these, I can advise you further.
Shorting battery is extremely dangerous, even a 1.5v AA when shorted can give u a wire with melted rubber coating within 10 secs.It involves shorting it to fully discharge it first. Full discharge of cells can be achieved by connecting to a load, eg. motor with propeller or something. But a 14.4v pack connected to a tamiya motor will probably fry it within 1 min. U can try draining the batt using 12v car vacuum, but if u use crocodile clips, the wires better be thick.
Even then, unmonitored discharging of battery pack will risk cell polarity reversal which permanently damages the weak cell, from weak -> DEAD!!!
If u're thinking of zapping using 12v 100 Amps car battery, it has to be swift, else cells may pop their pressure vent when the electrolytes inside boils.
Zapping has short-term effect anyway, since the cathode-anode membrane was already ruptured due to dendrite crystal spikes. Such "revived" cells will self-discharge double quick time, and u'll end up with an unbalanced pack once again.
can i use the normal 12v battery? i do have the voltmeter.
This is an old chart. Not updated and might gives false info.
Now where is the latest place to get cheap ah?
that Samsung NaviBot still no news yet?
Ya, I am also interested to see how much are they pricing the navibot and how does it measure up with the roombas.

It should be price closed to $1k. I like the room mapping features but I don't really know if it really can clean properly with just a single pass on that spot. You have seen how roomba cleans and it sometimes just miss out some debris or the exhaust will blow it aside but however subsequent revisit to the same spot takes care of it.
In my opinion, roomba is still pretty cool in terms of effectiveness. Just look at the debris bin and filter very time it finished it's job. I'm pretty impressed by this little thing.
Hi all,
Can I check how long long does your roomba 560 cleans the house before it goes back to dock and charge?
Thanks
Hi all, I have a charging error 5 whenever i charge my roomba 560. Error appears abt 20 min into the charge and repats itself even after reset, turn off power....
Any solutions, please help...
Thanks
Thanks.. Juboo, btw, issit a must to let the roomba charged 24/7? Will it affect the battery life if I dun do that? That will depends on your floor area and how much furniture you have. On an average is about 1-1.5 hrs.
