I quote myself:
Rule of thumb for Scooba: No bleach & no wax. Don't use on laminate floor.
Bonus attributes: PH neutral, low foam, less soapy

So android, the anti-bacterial one u mentioned is fine.

y can't it be used on laminate flooring? it's just cleaning the plastic overlay right?

Basically laminate is uncoated cardboard-like material, unlike parquet which is real wood & has a very ex Polyurethane finishing (unless contractor cut-corners).
If u got chip-board cupboards vs plywood cupboards, u'll have an idea on their tolerance towards moisture.

How to clean laminate http://www.wfca.org/laminate/care.aspx

I quote (bottom of page around last 10th line):
- Do not use soap-based detergents or “mop-and-shine” products
- Never flood your floor with water or cleaner

anyone knows what's the difference between 530 and 560? other than the accessories and the onboard scheduling. no difference otherwise?

i tried using 560's lighthouse/wall on my 530 robot, but it doesn't work. anyone knows why? can 530's virtual wall be used for 560?

is there any difference between black and white charger? the charger in my 530 is black while the 560 is white. can it be used interchangeably?

They are basically the same other than the above you mentioned. Battery capacity is the lower 1800 mAh so it don't last as long as 560.

530 does not come equip RF and so it cannot activate the virtual wall lighthouse of 560 as it uase RF. 530 VW on the otherhand can be use for 560.

Black and white charger is the same. They have the same part number. Even the 400 series charger can be interchange with the 500 series.

The manual for the irobot scooba states that the scooba should always be kept connected to the power supply to keep the battery charged when not in use? Is that necessary?

It's stated on iRobot USA support FAQ that Scooba should not be left charging without use for 2 wks.
http://homesupport.irobot.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/154

Pre-OSMO firmware (around 2006) of Scooba will overcharge battery within 5-6 hrs, ie. 4 hrs of eating & 1-2 hrs of force-feeding.
Google "Foie gras" if u can't imagine what force-feeding does.
Current Scooba firmware won't overcharge so easily, but >2 wks of small bites without exercise is still considered over-eating.

So... disconnect battery after full charge, then charge a bit just before use to top-up any loss of stored chemical energy.
All rechargeable batteries exhibit self-discharge, except those Ultra-low self-discharge NiMH like Eneloop, Recyko & Hybrio. They got specially engineered microscopic membranes to prevent energy loss thru crystalization.
Analogy: Milo powder in an air-tight container vs a lousy leaky container.

Just to share:

Best is follow a proper charging cycle to enjoy longer lasting battery performance.

1) Do not charge the battery (even if it's dead battery) if you do not intend to use for the next 3-5days.

2) Charge it just before/or hours before you intend to use it (up to maximum 1-2 days interval recommended)

3) Do NOT re-charge a bit after you have done a full charge of the battery. This DOES not help in pro-longing the battery, instead it will likely add on to the 500-1000 cycle of battery charge life every-time you charge up. Imagine your battery cycle is rated at 500, with such charging pattern effectively you are accelerating the death of the battery.

This is more crucial as iRobot battery pack is not Li-Ion based. There are many examples given on line about recharging the battery a little to boost the performance or to ensure the battery is more condition for use, but between performance and battery life you have a choice...
