Hi, I am a newbie and looking to buy robot vacuum. I am on research now to see which one to purchase because there are just too many reviews around.

Can anyone help to share with me whether Roomba 780 or the latest Lg Roboking Square is better? I am looking for a powerful unit that can vacuum better. Are they doing the same job? Seem like LG Roboking has mopping function as well.

There isn't much comparison between this two models.

I have 3 dogs at home and I need the robo vacuum to help me clean up the fur around everyday.

I too have 3 JRTs and I know the trouble you're facing They're the one whom inspired me into this robotic vacuum business and till now I'm still using the roomba 560 bought 5 years ago to solve the problem with the mess they've created.

With lotsa dog fur, it's recommended to get Roomba with Aerovac bin.
Roomba is very aggressive with all sorts of mess, high speed dual sweeping brushes picks up small & large things, finished off with vacuum suction to pull in dust, hair & pet fur.

Thanks for your advice. I am specifically looking at LG Roboking VR6260LVM which is suppose to be the latest and Roomba 780. Is Roomba still better?

Alot of comments that this LG Roboking is better that roomba. I am not sure. Hope there is someone who use both before can give me a good comment on which is a better buy.

I'm a recent owner of the Roboking 6260 (I also own a Scooba 380) & to me it works great...

I personally recommend getting the Roboking... It's systematic cleaning method is the best (That's my own opinion)...

Like I wrote on earlier threads Roomba does multiple passes over the same area which cleans the area well but the Roboking does it over 01 pass... If you feel it's not as clean as you want it press the remote or the Roboking itself for another round...

But so far after only 01 round for my own floor the area it cleans is good enough for me...

I too was confused about the exact same 02 models before deciding on the Roboking... After extensive research I decided on the Roboking 6260...

The 6270 has a very nice red colour plus it has the auto turbo function when it goes onto the carpet... But I do not have any carpet in my house so I did not have a use for that function...

The 6260 has a manual turbo function which can switch on or off (On the remote) so if you want you can also switch it on all the time...

But I'm very happy with my 6260...

Hi, Do understand you are seeking a comparison between the LG Roboking square and Roomba 780. The LG Roboking 6260 LVM (Black, $858 with warranty) cleans and navigates systematically, square design allows it reach the corners better.
The Roomba 780 would muiti-pass certain areas repeatedly during the cleaning, but may miss some areas too.
The Lg Roboking cleans comprehensively, but most areas only once or twice, before returning back to dock.
In terms of picking up fine dust, the Roboking has a better HEPA filtration system which definitely traps finer dust. In terms of holding pet fur. The latest Lg roboking has a larger bin than the Roomba 780 and frequency of clearing the bin would be reduced.
The Roboking uses Li-ion polymer battery and would last much longer. The Roomba 780 has a LCD touchpad panel and some may like it.
Anyway, Can always arrange to bring both the Lg Roboking 6260 and Roomba 780 for your consideration. The Lg roboking would properly take 10min to clean the entire room and returns back to the same spot and angle you start off the cleaning.
The Roomba 780 would properly take twice the time and may miss some spots within the Room, let alone the whole house.
In any case, both Robots would assist you greatly in cleaning and picking up pet fur.
For a better understanding, Do read a range of review online from a range of forums, and I am sure you would make an excellent choice.

I do not have Roomba... but if the Roomba navigation system is the same as Scooba... i will say that the coverage will definitely NOT be as good as Roboking... The Scooba travel very randomly, even when i confined it to very small space over a long period, i will say it covers only abt 85-90%... whereas the Roboking is able to cover abt 95% over a bigger space in less time... But i suspect the suction might not be as good as Roomba as the noise is pleasantly soft for Roboking...

The Roboking had a wet wipe function that i absolutely adore...

With regards to whether both can handle pet furs... i think you have to refer to Autovacs since i think they are the only one selling LG 6260/6270 locally... but my guess is the roomba might be better in sucking up fur but the coverage is random and takes longer... roboking may cover the area better and faster but might not suck in as much hair as roomba but may be able to compensate using the turbo function... all these are my guesses as i do not have the roomba... so better consult the sellers instead...

and with regards to my earlier scooba problems... i think it did perform slightly better as i used it more(both the machine and i need to develop "mo chi" i suppose)... i am confining it to smaller areas and using the half/quarter tank methods... however i think i will not let it run on the glossy homogeneous tiles as the water marks left on it is really unsightly to me... so will just use it on the smaller rooms, kitchen and balconies...

while I am still using my roomba (the fifth year now), I would prefer a systematic navigation instead of a random path. Systematic navigation will save the time needed, versus roomba's 25 minutes per area using virtual lighthouse. The battery on roboking might be able to be used longer too, if it can clean the house faster. hence lower cost on battery replacement

coverage wise roomba works fine to me, it is clean enough for me to only sweep my house manually once every 2 weeks

Ur Qs has no definite Ans, cos Neato will scan the room, start cleaning along the perimeter, then move inwards to clean in U-turn fashion.

Assuming there's a doorway, or things that look like doorway (eg. a big couch spaced 1 m from the wall), these will be postponed to Part 2, after the room (ie. Part 1) is completed.

Neato goes over each spot once, unlike Roomba which goes over few times. So cleaning time is very short.
A typical bedroom with not much obstacles will take maybe 10 mins. One chair = 4 legs = 4 obstacles.

Tight obstacles like dining table with 6 chairs, could slow Neato down significantly, cos Neato front is square, so going straight in is easy, but turning in tight spaces is difficult & it'll very often need to reverse in order to get out.
That's the case for my dining table, it gets wedged in between very often, that's the harsh truth of not being round.

For a large living area ~500 sq ft, I estimate Neato takes 25 mins.

Thks UNO, so assuming that the place is very big and neato cannot cover in one cycle, so how long will it clean before it goes out of batt and has to go back to charge?

The power consumption of Neato should be higher than Roomba due to a bigger vacuum motor, the lack of sidebrush motor might save some power.

So how long can a new Neato battery last until flat is the Qs, and I can't help u there cos I've never timed it.

wow that I did not try but I know the older XV-11 gives the best run time in my house. XV-21 needs a recharge to clean my house as it only achieves 40 mins runtime.

I have screeching sound too, alrdy quite immune to it and scooba ran alright.
