Autovac claim thay can repair, you can look for them. I replace it at $135 for one of his customer as they were quoted $200+ dunno for repair or change. Another of their customer was quoted $180. I prefer to change as I don't believe something that needs lab calibration can be repaired.

Yup. The Neato may have some errors that may require repairs over time. We do not charge anything during warranty period. I believe prices quoted for repairs included replacement of original battery too. Impossible anyone would pay $200 plus to repair something, when its 50% of a new one, factoring in used parts and accessories, did rather trade it in for a new one. Anyway I believe the robots are in good hands.

We use only Brand new original parts for all repairs and replacements and we offer a comprehensively warranty coverage after all repairs. Of course, Sellers could always offer a cheaper price for warranty if they replace Faulty Original Parts (like batteries or parts) with compatible or non-original parts during the warranty period.

Anyway, for all considering the Woot Discount for the Neato XV-11, would gladly offer it at $4XX and provide warranty too. Hope that would help save some trouble.

My XV11 bought Jul 2011 very frequently says "I'm stuck, please move obstacles", very very sian.

I can't leave it alone & schedule it since it always stop halfway. RPS gonna spoil?! (tear drop)

The XV-11 quoted comes with the same bristle brush and HEPA filter set of the XV-21, noise level is the same. The Neato xv-11 is more of a military green look. Neato XV-21 is white with purple. I guess colour preferences is subjective, Anyway, we do have both the xv-11 and 21. Sure can always arrange for a comparison if undecided.

Only Roomba has anti-tangling system whereby either the bottom brush or sidebrush will reverse direction to release whatever that's get stuck halfway. This was specifically for the purpose of carpet tassels cos such carpets are common in USA.
However, the anti-tangling feature only kicks in when the brush motor overloads to send out the signal to Roomba, if there's little or no resistance, then anti-tangling doesn't trigger. Eg. a cloth rag on the floor gets "eaten" halfway, Roomba might "spit" it out, or drag it along. The rag might even get caught in the L & R rubber tires, which might go so deep that Roomba can't dislodge the rag even by reversing the tires.
So it's best to remove rags before using Roomba.

None of the other robotic vacuums have anti-tangling feature, the brushes only spin in one direction.

Roomba having dual brush system, can pick up coins, but more obvious when the coin is on carpet. If on hard floor, the coin being so flat, tends to just get dragged along. Roomba picking coins on hard floor is ~70% success rate.

The other robotic vacuum have single brush, so can't pick coins. Even with Neato's big & strong vacuum motor, it's not enough to suck up coins.

i admit i have the 770 roomba and it picks up everthing but is noisy ,the lg roboking is a lot thorough in its cleanining but i cant get any spare parts for the roboking. I prefer the roboking in its quietness but parts are impossible to get. so my vote would be the roomba as parts are readily available

I won't be surprised if iRobot develops a Roomba using Mint's Northstar navigation. Else they wouldn't have spent money to buy the company.
But I also feel iRobot is more than capable of developing something like Northstar, using their own MIT engineers.

I also vote roomba for cleanliness and the roboking also amazes me with it's extremely low noise.

You can actually avoid the noise by running it with schedule when you're out at work. (unless you're at home 24/7 ) Actually the noise of roomba is not really that loud but of course, if you compare it with roboking

When Pb0006 say his Roomba 770 is noisy, I was surprise at his choice of word.
Roomba is louder than Roboking mainly due to high speed bottom brushes, especially beater brush.
The vacuum bin isn't actually noisy unless very old & might screech during start & stop.
What's more Roomba 770 came out not that long, so I don't expect Pb0006's to suffer brush gear wear & tear.

If you ask for roomba spares maybe you can get easily. It was discussed many times that new product will suffer from lack of spares if anything should go wrong when you do not get from a source with warranty support.

You should try with your seller first, from Gmart? I do not wish to disassemble my 4 warranty bots yet as this is for my customer support. However, you might want to bring it down to me and see if I can help to salvage it.

Glad to know ur desire to help is still there. As for "if all else fails", worse case can refer to me for "unconventional" repair, ie. repairing by improvisation. I'll take up the challenge, although I prefer it be solved by "elegant" way of replacing parts.

I believe that is better than having an $800+ white elephant.
