Zuck created ownself problem. Pay new hires moar then old hires, so current AI head leaving.

But to be fair to him, he's trying to throw out the old (not working) and bring in the new (hopefully working).
but the action means he's lagging in the AI race very badly.

Google Gemini really is a powerhouse now which can do everything as well as any of the other AI providers like OpenAI or Anthropic or Claude , but GOOGLE has the Cloud infrastructure already in place and their ecosystem is not just AI and AI integration to other services inside Google means users are going to get more and more tightly integrated into the ecosystem much like what Apple did last time.

Microsoft is the one bleeding but still manageable because of their cashflow. They are the one funding OpenAI and they are now stuck .. if they give up supporting OpenAI, it means Microsoft will be AI-less..

Depends on how you define overhyped.

AI is the most important technology since the internet, this is real, not hype. AI will change the way people work, play and consume just like the internet did.

Even Bershire buy Google. I don’t think they will buy if they think AI is in a bubble.

Boss asked me switch some ops to AI.Shuddered to think someday will become the movie I,Robot ..where they really take over ..

Not real now but it will soon be reality. Just waiting for cost reduction and maturity of tech.
It can simple thing like this that reduces human manpower significantly.

But this is real and tested.

Automation shouldn't be confused with LLM / AI... Automation follows a fixed set of programmed instructions...

LLM / current AI is a token predictor/generator. Not the same.
Wanted to say this.

So many people confused between rule-based automation vs AI/ML. I bet many people in senior management don't even know the differences.

When people see some digitalization, they will scream AI! AI!
