Don't bother mix and match. It is not the price as it seems.

The price you see on the paper itself is consider a bundle buy. And their bundle buy means you are buying as a whole com from that particular shop.

Like the other day i went to Best buy and also Best price.

Both are charging different from the price list.

So ya, try not to mix and match. I rather you go to 1 store and settle everythng. Still possible to go for further discount paying cash.

I don't really agree. Those shop just want to earn as much as they can from you. If you are resourceful, plan your trip right, and of course have golden tongue for bargaining, it is easy to get their so called 'bundle' discounts even when you don't buy it in 'bundle', for the simple fact that they don't sell at a loss.

So as long as you are able to convince them that you will not buy anything else and only that single item at bundle price, they will still sell you if they earn, and ofc ONLY if you do it right.

Simply start off by going there and tell them WHAT YOU NEED. If they come up with things like 'bundle for you?' Just tell them you already have an entire rig at home waiting for you to slot that graphics card in Ofcourse, still got more tricks and tactics.. ownself discover!

Ofc, won't work all the time. I'm not the best at bargaining and talking so there's always someone who can do better. No harm trying, since you already go to SLS, it might save you a couple of bucks that you can put in your rig, or the luxury of cabbing home

Worse come to worse, just buy the entire rig from the shop lor and say you fweels like buy another rig now since they tempt you. Ask them give you special price to 'tempt' you even more.

PSU shouldn't worry too much, most mainstream brands are pretty solid. If want more info, can see reviews lor.
Hunt for price/watt/value/efficiency certification.

Your choice on the bundle or not. If that few dollars you think not worth your effort or worth risking the time/effort, then just go for bundle. Can try bargain a bit also!

Thermaltake ok lah. So far never give me problem.

Thermaltake Smart SE 620W modular bought with a bundle for $90.

Basically what i like about this PSU is the flat cables being used. Extremely good for HTPC imo. But oh well i have moved on to ATX. But still it looks good and neater to manage the wires in my new sharkoon t28.

But the reviews people post till like damn jialut like that. Don't know why.

Anyway i might be looking for a red led psu soon. Once done i have a complete red set.

Check your mobo specs, it will state whether it is 10/100 or 10/100/1000... the latter is desired..

The top i7 desktop Haswell isn’t worth buying a new mobo for.

As quoted from inside. This means if u upgrading from ivybridge, just upgrade your processor to a better 1155, instead of going haswell.
This doesn't mean that getting IB > HW from scratch or from builds before IB, such as clarkdale and older.
