Battery is amaron less than 1 year old.

Huh plug out to save batt also kill battery? Sounds like power saver or not also batt still suffer sudden or shorter lifespan as long cam is installed

ya it can last 2 yrs if u are not using parking mode

battery will degrade as time goes by
the power in the battery will drain faster and faster even if u are not using it when the battery gets older
when power saver auto cut off, the balance power in ur battery will drain off faster than new battery

ie. power saver cut off from a new battery, balance power in the battery can last u 48 hrs before it died off
as time goes by, battery gets older and degrade, the balance power in ur battery cannot last u 48 hrs anymore
it will get lesser and lesser

same theory for handphone battery
1-2 yrs old battery will drain faster even if u off the phone
I guess ZhuTou has explained very clearly!:D

made in China battery ? :D joking no offence
Did you forget to off your cabin light or head light. first time hear plug out overnight 1 day also drain for less than a year battery.
Or power saver limit cut off set too low?

seems like recently there is a spike in batt issues...let me explain my case for any doubters out there....

I am a Itronics ITB200HD user with power saver installed in my car with parking mode on. My batt is amaron age about 1 1/2 year plus. So far so good on my side and I recently went for a 1 week holiday and before I flew off, I off the switch to my power saver and the red light to my cam was off so it wasnt recording any more and when I came back a week later, started my car, switched on the power and it start recording immediately with no issues.

Isn't that the time when you need the recording most~? :s11:

Put it this way,
32gb can only last 16 hours of full motion detection which is around 2-3 nights of recording based on motion. If accident happened before the third day, the recording would have been overwritten by then when you returned from an overseas trip of 1 week.

This is the limitation of car dvr now which support up to 32GB. So IMHO, heng sway while you travel.:D

How long ago was your last drive & duration?

At that time was around 50km to and fro. lasting about 30mins without turning off the engine.

I guess ZhuTou has explained very clearly!:D

I understand but the whole point of the power saver is to prevent such situation for a not so new battery right?

I purchased around start of May this year, does my power saver comes with higher voltage cut off or limiting the recording hours?

My amaron battery last me from 2009 till now. Still going strong.

Yeah usually Amaron should last like 2 years.

i think u still abit unsure what im trying to say
ok i dun use voltage, i use percentage as an example
example the power saver will auto cut off when ur battery left 10%
a new battery with 10% left and a old battery with 10% left...
which one can last longer?

power saver will cut off when it reach the setting irregardless new or old battery
as long it reach the setting point, it will cut off
the purpose of power saver is to make sure the dvr wont drain ur battery till 0% so that u still able to start ur car
it wont know whether ur battery is old or new
so no matter what, it will juz follow the setting and cut off when it reach the setting point

I understand what you mean. Maybe I did not phrase myself clearly enough.

My point is, the power saver should cut off at a point whereby batteries within reasonable age will be able to hold enough charge for car startup after a reasonable period of none usage. It's not as if I left the car unused for a long period of time.

Since now I know the threshold is that low, I will probably set the power saver to cut off at a higher voltage or set a time limit to the recording duration (Is it possible?)

new model power saver can
old one cannot, default is 11.8v i think
