Ichiran is designed to be a solo experience. :s13:

:s13::s13:
lol I agree. That's precisely what my friends told me too who went there before to eat their ramen, due to the restaurant's seating arrangements in 'cubicle' style. I haven't been back to Japan for awhile now so I guess this coming June when im going over there for a trip it will be my first time patronising Ichiran as a customer. I certainly hope that their ramen do live up to their reputation.

After eating ichiran, I can't even eat the ippudo here. Or maybe the jurong branch is just plain bad. You may want to try jangara ramen too. Didn't manage to try but heard it's a different style but very nice too.

Has anybody eaten pork shabu shabu/sukiyaki in Sapporo/Hakodate before?

I've found really great restaurant suggestions for crabs, ramen and sashimi. Just couldn't find the one dish that my parents requested for :s22:

Jiro ramen is another famous one I suppose? I didn't see it but I did try Ichiran on 4 occasions and Ippudo once. I really liked Ichiran's style more than Ippudo's. I went crazy on my last bowl at Ichiran by adding almost everything except the egg since it's not the soft-boil style. A 1500 yen ramen totally pwns any here with all the works.

I will recommend Ichiran. Die die must try. If you don't like after that so be it since its not very ex. A fully loaded one costs about 1500 yen at most. Jangara ramen was highly rated but I didn't get to try. Mos burger buns are really nice cause they grill it slightly. Yoshinoya beef bowls are great value for money.

Sorry for a noob question on sushi shops:

I'm a big fan of sushi and sashimi but my gf doesn't take raw fish

I was looking to visit tsukiji fish market and probably have breakfast in one of the sushi bars (preferably one of the 2 famous ones)

But again my gf doesn't take raw fish and I noticed most of these sushi bars just serve raw fish sushi
Are there any shops where I can get a nice sushi experience while my gf orders some cooked menu items? (Saba fish w rice etc)
