usually 2-3 days enuf to cover the main sights. if u want to explore in great detail, u can easily fill up all 7 days. koyo season is more crowded too, so may need more time at each place. they have night illumination, so can stay for tt also, though tt doesnt affect the number of days.

but i think depends on person ba. for me i dun really like kyoto coz too crowded, and i am not tt into temples. so 2 days if probably the max for me. if i have 7 days, i would split it to do kyoto and some other places

Yup, targeting the colors for photography and as well as illumination/ light-up events. Looking at 7 days in Kyoto city and another 7 days outskirts of Kyoto. Hopefully can materialize it, else it's Ito Peninsula.

hi guys. is this hotel good for its price and location? seems like one of the better choices for me right now

Near a metro station. Simple business hotel. How about looking at Ikebukuro or Ueno? At least there's JR and metro subway stations.

Anyone keen to join for 3 days snow skiing in Hokkaido, and 1/2 days in Sapporo? In early december 2016.
Don't mind any gender.

Here are my plans.
The locations I'm going may not be grouped in the same area but I thought since places are accessible, spending 30mins travelling to another location should be alright?

I will start my trip daily from Shinjuku station as hotel is nearby.
Assuming starting at 8am every morning.

Am I missing any place of interest?

1. I didn't put any shrines/temple because I don't find them nice (I'm open to it though)
2. I didn't put any parks/gardens because it's december..probably nothing much to see?
3. No ginza because it looks like all high end store, not my cup of tea.

Day 1
Reach hotel , check in by 4pm
Evening-night
Shinjuku shopping malls, get familiar with shinjuku station.
Tokyo metropolitan building observatory (Near my hotel)

Day 2
DisneySea

Day 3
Morning
Tokyo Skytree + sumida aquarium
Walk to Asakusa from Tokyo skytree (20mins walk)
Noon
Tokyo national museum of nature and science (Asakusa station -> Ueno Station 5mins)
Evening
Shiodome (Winter illumination) (20mins from Ueno station to Shimbashi station)

Day 4
Morning
Shibuya Hachiko statue
Shibuya Loft
Noon
Odaiba - malls + see rainbow bridge at 6pm
Night
Roppongi Hill / Tokyo midtown (Winter illumination)

Day 5
Morning
Sanrio puroland (Train trip 45 mins)
Noon
Ikebukuro (May skip this if not enough time)
Night
Tokyo tower
Roppongi Hill / Tokyo midtown (If didn't manage to see it on day 4)
Another winter illumination(Will be decided later)

Day 6
1/2 day in Shinjuku for last minute shopping.

Shidome, do remember is Caretta Shiodome not the city center.

ikebukuro nothing much as you already been to some other mall, unless u got specific item like specialised Kit Kat branch to buy then go.

Ya I also felt like Ikebukuro nothing much except for the sunshine 360 observatory that's why may not go.

Day 1
Why not going hakone straight from airport? Think there's express bus.

Day 4
Would suggest you to skip mt fuji 5th trail and go for strolling along lake kawaguchi instead. I've been to 5th trail and that's nothing much to see unless u intend to climb.

Wasnt sure which hotel u staying, during my recent trip at kawaguchiko, i've walked from the musical forest back to my hotel which is at the other side of the lake near kawaguchiko station. It was quite a nice walk to enjoy the scenary & mt fuji along the way.

Musical forest took me ard 1+ hrs coz i've skipped the shows and walking half the lake took me 2-3hrs...

My itenary for that day started at 10am, ropeway -> musical forest -> walking around lake -> 530pm bus back to tokyo.

Regarding day 3 @tokyo skytree, u might need to check what time the shops open and plan at least half a day there if you're shopping kind of person.

There's an planetarium at 7th floor which run different shows hourly. I've managed to catch one of the shows and i think it's nice if you're into star gaze.

Also, would suggest you to visit ueno first and then proceed from there to tokyo skytree if you want early start. I've enjoyed walking around ueno park when i was there recently. Don't think there's much to see during night time.

Don't think it'll be tiring as there's express bus from airport to hakone... just proceed to bus stop, drop your lugguage with bus conductor and enjoy the scenary along the bus ride...

As for hotel, i'll recommend you to checkout booking.com. my hotel was very expensive because it's an onsen hotel at convenience location with private bathroom and spacious room. But i think the quality of service and everything is worth the price i've paid.
