I am thinking to get either Airalo or Ubigi since both support in app top up. Which one is better in terms of coverage?

The changi router has speed cap after 500mb. Not suitable for sharing. Sometimes, I hit cap after 1-2 hours

Has anyone used Giga roaming b4? Its 1GB for $5 that's valid for 5 days. I only intend to use the data for google maps as my hotel has wifi. Will be there for 15 days. As I'm using a Xiaomi, I'm unable to use esim which are many of the service providers recommended here.

Notwithstanding, softbank's network seems to be poorer too. Used to buy from ICC but they recently seem to only sell softbank simcards.

Klook has sim card for 15days, around $20/30 for 10/20GB. Good enough for most unless constantly watching videos, instagram.

thanks ... have checked Klook

there is one DoCoMo, unlimited data for 12 days about SGD 42 ... I may get that

as going Hokkaido on long road trips, prefer unlimited data

it seems there r more options for other parts of Japan (ie not Hokkaido)

Update:

Changi Rec website has 2 Tabs providing SIM cards

1) Travel eSIM (this offers eSIM & physical cards provided by other Brands, ALL these DO NOT support Hotspot)

2) Changi iSIM (this site offers eSIM & physical cards by Changi, these Support HotSpot according to Changi Support CSO. The FAQ is not as detailed compared the other tab)

in general, the Changi Rec website needs a complete over haul .. it is quite messy.

May i know why going to hokkaido need a lot of data? to upload into insta/FB or map check or the only option from klook? I plan to use my simba and top up regularly for the data roaming.

with my big group & long drives, i dont want to risk running out of data. we will b there 12 days

will hotspot to others in my group, & sometimes in my group, some may inadvertently upload/download videos

if just me n SO, we can control .. but bigger group, not sure

from my Msia day trips, 12hrs usage (on navi & some googling) would need about 300 MB a day

I see, your plan is to get 1 sim card and hotspot to others, which make sense. I think for my side, both my mum and me are using Simba, so we are responsible for our own usages. I will just get a daily 1gb, 12 days simcard for my dad. Lets see how much data would be used.

But i can get ICC daily 1gb, 12 days at $15.20. Simba data roaming is $4/gb. Means that i cannot exceed 4gb in Simba otherwise, ICC is more worth it.
