Yeah got to modify the long runs. AI training plan, their long runs set up too “easy” already.

It’s like “ Run at this pace for this distance”.

I like my long runs to be progressive. Just watch YouTube or see how the china influencers train. Their long runs are never set at one single pace.
It's called the pickup long run with my AI trainer. usually the workout is divided into three sections of equal duration, e.g. 50mins easy , 50 mins MP, 50 mins easy.

I am quite keen to join this as I screwed up quite badly for my last HM. Despite running so many HM during my long run under 2 hours and wanted to achieve it at a race. I have fail to do it... The last race. I suffered cramp after the 16km and completely exhausted after running zig zag for the 1st 10km to overtake slower runner.. I feel I will be no stress to run at a park or stadium on my own.

I no need a PB. All i want is just official sub 2 half marathon timing
go for it man.

Isn’t virtual run the same as running on your own? Or do you mean the SG version of 2XU next year?

https://www.heyjom.com/event/2XU-Malaysia-Virtual-Run-2025

The 2xu virtual race is from Malaysia..

Yes. Virtua where to run on my own and need to submit results thru their app.

Singapore 2xu race is actual run which to be held on 6 Apr 2026. It falls on my working day ( I am a shift employee ) so I won't be able to run

After a relatively disappointing standard chart race, I went for a 10km run hoping to achieve a good pb before EOY. Almost an 1min20s PR and aided by the good weather. Glad to get my long awaited sub 44 before EOY and I can reset in peace 😅 Paced as consistent as I can while I slowed down during 7-9km to ensure I can finish the run with a strong finish

As posted 2 days before, cool days ahead, can TT.

@GlassDoor

Green parts cannot touch us, else too wet.......then early mornings too wet liao

If wanna further train, can also aim for days in mid/late Jan. Ever so slightly cooler even if we are lucky enough.

When I was walking after my cramps. I saw many quite senior runners all running with the 4 hour group. Was very impressed.

Aim for sub-3/1:30 esp for > 50. Can do it this way as well, go/train for the speed element and after that improve on the distance element , be it 400m to FM, good for musclature, NM, longevity. From my experience in running/cycling, more practical and usable in real life as well. Less taxing on time, commitments this way. Not gonna be easy tho mixing both.

Really cool this morning. Even borderline cold.
15k TT 62m08s. Glutes and hamstring had a very good workout. Good run!

Maybe need to fuel properly for future 15k TT. I only had a glass of milo + espresso. Legs definitely feel heavier than usual after 11-12km.

Wah lao we forgot to check the radar this morning and relied on last night's forecast. Ended up 30 mins went out then needed to rush back liao.

Actually wanted to ask you, your FM timing, you did not have much of a LSD training right, that kinda 3hr long runs.

Yeah for us mere mortals not used to unlike those elites who can even just rely on isotonic drinks for nutrition for FM distance (and most dont need anything for HM), we need to have a bit of redbull or prep with some bagels or banana something for running fast, i think best to do this even for 5k.

actually no training targeting FM :ROFLMAO:. it was literary a last min thingy.
but I do 25-27km progressive runs about twice a month. So I know I can complete the 42km distance. Just don't know at what pace. I did 30-35k runs almost on a weekly basis two years ago but only at low Z2 pace. So I don't know if the base building effect is still there. The pace group helped tremendously for sure.

Though they didn't medal, but impressed by Nicole and Vanessa for sticking to the pace and not be led on by the front runners. Those that tried to keep up with the front runners blow off.

Sometimes, it's better to run your own race than chase the leader.
