Fully understand.

This morning did 2.5hrs zone 2 with 3 water and toilet and sit-down breaks in between. Prior ate 1 small pack of indomie (for sodium also).
No way > 1hr i can survive wo music....just no way. Just need to maintain situational awareness is ok liao, the music cannot cover the surroundings is ok liao.

What i am afraid is not normal cars even with BT speaker, but impatient drivers driving electric cars like Tesla. :ROFLMAO: Still, tbh, no speaker also useless, literally cannot hear them at 30-40kmh one....basically any tire noise from them also drowned out by background traffic noise.

Rear radar also mostly useless in quite a lot of my riding situations (not saying that there is no use esp during really off peak graveyard mornings @ 4-6am which there is very little vehicles but i totally dont ride at those times), too many false warnings and then you get numbed by the warnings and ignore.

Just gotta use daytime visible lights (like car DRLs), avoid peak periods (if bo bian just get on the pathway, a bit more time wont die one) and dont challenge traffic, and hope for the best.
Not into cycling yet although I have 2 foldable Brompton at home. My wife only do brisk walk and dislike running so I thought she should be ok with cycling. In the end . She also won't! 😂.

Given a choice. I will also avoid cycling on the road. . and will strictly ride on the PCN or park .

yah, CN many many choices at more affordable prices.

me in SG now. Surprisingly, SG is more cooling than SH! 😂
this morning ran one round Serangoon Garden estate, the uphill part super challenging, my Z2-3 HR shoots up into red zone very fast
Good training.
Isotonic drinks in SG damn ex man! 😂
Cheapo me buy electrolyte powder from PDD. Water drink from water cooler haha.

Sometimes buy Kangshifu drink recommended by Wuss from Sheng Siong. Only 80cents per bottle.

They also sell a China brand isotonic drink for $1. Bigger bottle compared to our 100+/Pocari.

Actually just sodium chloride is can liao. 1 packet of instant noodles more than sufficient, or similar but healthier (eg soba noodles + soba sauce). Sodium to potassium loss is 10:1, half a banana more than sufficient.
Mg is very minimal, no need to replenish.

  • Sodium: Helps the body retain fluids and supports nerve function.
  • Potassium: Supports muscle and heart function.
  • Magnesium: Aids in muscle relaxation and energy production.
  • Calcium: Important for bone health, muscles, and nerves.
  • Chloride: Balances fluids and helps maintain healthy blood pressure.
  • Sugars / Carbohydrates: Added to aid absorption and provide a quick source of energy.
  • Flavorings / B-Vitamins: Often included for taste and to support energy metabolism. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

No wonder why some of the riders and even team support staff wear masks, as in FFP2/KF94, not only flat masks.

Ya I did that previously when I brought a water bottle on my runs. But now just run hands free.

Fill with water, add salt, add some cane sugar. If have leftover drinks from CNY, add 1 can too.

Got close to 3hr boh ?
3.5 hr, managed to hit my goal so I am quite satisfied with it.
Very interesting tips! What's your next goal?
ippt gold, but nothing serious until september. After the 7-11 run and before decathlon 10k, I will start my 12-week HM build-up
See if anyone finds this useful. Quite interesting, good timing for run/walk, somemore at 60

This guy managed to run 2.40 at 52 in GCM

Kuudere, so now got interest to dial the distance back a little bit and try for 3/5k? Then got chance also can do 10k of coz with decent timings. Whack fast fast one, 3:20 pace and below. For running grps speak, that means you join pack 1 of fast groups and then hang out with the boys and dont get dropped.

I dont know, but in the local context with regards to work cultures here (unless your job/career is really balanced type with short commutes) and family/GF is supportive or kid and or wife also shares same sport and hobby, it's quite difficult. Also, durability doesnt matter as much then, and race nutrition hydration not as important, esp with out local hot weather. 🥵🥵

But dont get me wrong, to do really ok for 3-5k or heck for 400/800/1500 also has its own set of really difficult challenges. The same goes for cycling actually, or any other sport in fact.

Finally Sub 90 at long last. This was very unexpected as training didn’t go according to plan. Couldn’t even complete my key workouts for the last 2 weeks and thus going into the race, I actually set my target to Sub 91. Was just telling myself a PB will suffice.

But the first few km felt so good with HR at around high 150 and low 160 that I decided to just go for it and see whether I can last anot. At 15-16km, I know there was a high chance I can potentially Sub 90 so I just yolo and went for it haha. Glad I did my surge at last few hundred meters if not I would have missed my Sub 90.

Next race will be Malaysia Marathon 2026. 5 weeks to decide what pace to go at.

Next potential goal to hit will be Sub 40 10km!
