Won't lah. Esp now when you are approaching 60, its best to consume sufficient protein to minimize muscle loss.
no wonder me keep craving for meat and eggs after a run

remember the last 3 days of march
29/3: 6.15+7.58km (eggs+steak rice)
30/3: 21.52km (buffet+hotpot)
31/3: 8.51+8.2km (burger+steak)

this is something y i can hardly lose weight effectively. The more i run, the more i eat. its a vicious cycle.
😂

Use to drink whey protein when I was on a marathon training plan. But only for long runs. But stop liao, coz don't like the taste.

Protein in its natural form still the best. Just incorporate more protein-rich food that isn't high in saturated fat into your meals can liao.

I think having the base probably helps to make the transition to running easier as compared to people with no experience in either running or other sports. Ultimately, though I think perseverance and consistency is key (like that guy 90km / week compared to my 50-65)

This guy managed to run 1.27 HM off 47km avg. weeks. Can see his improvement in his training pace as he progresses through the weeks.

I thought runner need more carbohydrate than protein intake ?
Protein is for seniors, where sarcopenia is more severe. Not just protein, have to do muscle strengthening exercise so the protein intake will be used for building up muscle. They say 30 years start losing muscle if don't use it, but worst as one age.

Also protein are useful for recovery after a hard workout as they are use for building back the muscle loss during execrise.

Runners for long distance need calories, carb is fast energy conversion, so it is useful for runners. But personally I think if you have trained in zone 2 for a long period of time and very consistent and frequent, you are also training your body to be metabolic flexible and hence can switch mode to fat burning faster. I used to train LSD without gels up to 32km, don't feel the need refuel.

Later will rain in the late afternoon (it's actually still somewhat cool right now at noon time). Potentially can test timing tonight.

DNF the 5k time trial. Too warm (coz didnt really rain in the late afternoon), even though it wasn't a warm day.
Felt that the HR a bit too high also. Cut back to a tempo run and then chill cafe ride around. Next time......still lots of time.

Also met a group of 3 cyclists who insisted on taking up the whole cycling lane riding 3 abreast and also wearing black and without lights and dark clothings. !@#$@!# Nearly crashed into them as i had to brake and veered onto the pedestrian lane. I u-turned and chased for a while before decided to chillax, i think they "felt it". Nearly wanted to F them upside down.

What treadmill brand/model are you using ah? Thinking of getting 1 for the wife for her to clock her cardio while watching her k-drama.

I no treadmill but used the Anytime Fitness Club one.

This is the brand they are using
