Just signed up for the Garmin Run 10km as it doesn't clash with my overseas trip.

Gonna be my next race after the HK marathon which is like a few months ago LOL. Time to train up (maybe more intervals and fartlek runs) during the next few months and hopefully get a new PB.
All the best for your training, I started off in March building up for the 10km Skechers Run.

I progressed from 1km intervals to 1.2km to 1.6km.

My most recent workout was 6 x 1.6km w/ 2 min rest at 4.13 min/km avg. pace. After doing this workout, I did my 6km threshold run, felt good and tried to aim for the PB after 2km, fell short by 18s because I started my first km too slow. It was 4.08 min/km at the end of it.

So that workout is definitely helpful in building 10k speed.

https://training4endurance.co.uk/running/running-intervals/10k-pace-intervals/1600m-10k-pace/

This is the chart you can use if you are aiming for specific 10k times. It list the target pace, recovery time for different types of intervals ranging from 1k, 1.2k, 1.6k, 2k.

If you have the time to build up for it, can try going for 2km x 5 w/ 2.30-3.00 min rest. I am planning to try 2km x 4 w/ 3.00 min rest as my final workout next week.

This girl is fast, 16.30 min 5km runner. And she races every week from 800m to 5km and above.

Pay that price in rmb can liao

Lightweight is good. Use 250ml soft flasks. Try not to use the 420-450ml ones if you can help it. If not the top would flop over when you run and drop out.....it's pretty difficult to squeeze it in.
250ml ones much easier. You can put 2pcs and that's already 500ml......enough for your use in SG's PCN and 7-11 context.

Are you trying to aim for sub-40mins for 10km? If yes then then looks like we're aiming for the same goal too.
I think your suggestion of 2km x 5 is actually a good idea but I'll try to go for a lesser rest time instead to keep the momentum going. I recently ran a 41m 49sec 10km tempo but i know i can do better than that for sure cause i can't sustain 4min/km pace for the last 5k. Time for me to train up more!
Glad that managed to sub 2. I thought it would be tough to get back my fitness since I kenna the hyperthyroidism.
Congrats!

Yes, but not in the short run. For Skechers, I am aiming for 42.10. Trying not to hit below 42.30. Perfect condition probably high 41s.

End of the year goal, will be happy as long as I can run under 41.30, since that's my PB.

Sub-40 >> Not so soon, will have to depend on whether I can run 19.00 5km.

Current plan is to work on the 5km for Pocari Sweat run in September after Skechers Run. After that, depends on my times for the Pocari Sweat Run, but I am aiming to run 19.30 in Bedok Reservoir for the 5km run since I did it back in my jc days.

2km x 5 (r2) is the 10km predictor, but r3 has its benefits of allowing you to complete the workout much easier and faster so that you can transit to r2 in future.

Anyways, will work on building up to 10km again after the 5km training block ends in early September.

The GT3, GT3 pro and GT Runner have highly rated wrist base Optical HR monitor. Don't know about the 3 SE though, but I think should be the same sensor.
On very good offer now. Below pic is after $10 seller voucher and $20 platform voucher.

Just share this vid for the cyclists here.

5k TT = ~ 8.30 min, or 35.2kmh. Cadence ~ 100rpm.

Age, wind direction/speed unknown. Most importantly at the end of the TT segment you could see from the shadow that he wasn't adopting a low down aero position.
That is a really fast speed for a 16" foldie.
Very impressive esp from a cardio/aerobic pov.

I could only muster 8.56 on a full send. Somemore is only GPS distance and only more or less there on google map, so i cannot confirm the accuracy esp with the u-turns. (but it is what it is....... im definitely not going to TMCR or even Seletar which iare both pretty far)

For the shoes otaku in this group. A tour in a huge shoes manufacturer in China. The process is rather manual labour. Expecially the gluing section. Too many manual work, so consistent in gluing quality might be in question.
