Really can feel the tibia bone push into the ankle? Never experience it or could I imagine what kind of injury is that. I never had issue with my ankle, not even when I did trails runs regularly last time in normal running shoes. Vaporfly was the first time I had the ankle pain.I am avoiding the following shoes when i do my runs, regardless of distance and pace at the moment
- NB Fuelcell Rebel v4
- PUMA DN2
- ADIDAS AP3
BMAI必迈, BROOKS, 乔丹, SAUCONY, XTEP特步 are generally fine for me.
My main issue is not so much about stability/motion control. It's the Talus area, when midsole is too soft, i will feel the Tibia sinks downwards which makes my ankle feel super uncomfortable. Hence, only firmer midsoles are suitable for me. I don't really know how to explain it better at the moment.
Ankle stability issue due to sprains can be protected via ankle guard. But i do suspect due to weaker tendons and ligaments around my ankle after sprain, softer midsole allows more impact between horizontal and vertical part of my ankle.
You issue doesn't sound like a common problem, hope you find your solution. The general guide of regressing your mileage and load and slowly built back over time usually work if mobility and pain level is not an issue.
