Don't really need lab test unless you want to specifically see if your training is helping you burn more fat as a fuel from the LT graph flattening. Most people only know how to interpret the movement of the graph Left-Right but the up-down movement is useful to see your substrate utilization. To know your LT2 pace, just do an all out 7km time trial will do.
i used my coros running fitness test.. Their built in test will calculate my LTHR and pace. But I am at a stage where this number hardly change much. Plateau liao,, Now is just hope to maintain and don't want to see it drop.

Your LT2 pace won't be able to progress further if its already at a high % of your V.VO2max (or your ceiling aerobic speed). So the only way is to first increase your V.VO2max either thru many more years of consistent running (and the increase will be very slow) and/or HIIT.

At such distances, too focused liao. Music only for long runs :geek:

Try to go with the army PT shorts and white singlet (could be army or anything else), realised that it helps to reduce my HR when I run since it's a lot cooler

She is new balance runner, of course wear their shoes
I do the walk up after office while omy home...
Saturday will definitely put on my jogging attire n see how.
Cos my pants, polo collar tee , bags already add in more weight..I suppose.
I hv 2 vertical activities this Aug.

Another one is 10km run organize by homesg. Not sure want yo join or not...

20240712 25degC xtep 160x5.0
10.04km @ 6'13" av
10.27km @ 7'06" av
checked the weather forecast today and heavy rain will start around 7.30am, so set my alarm at 4.15am and started running at 5am
today's run is very smooth on both legs until last part due to fall in stamina. Can see from the pace in the timing below.
coros app indicated my VO2max dropped to 38 today :ROFLMAO:

Your milestones: Sub-9 2.4km > Sub-19.30 5km > Sub-40.30 10km > sub-1.07 16km

Once you get to the 16km stage, you will be ready. I used to be able to reach sub-1.07 16km but lack the mileage to execute 21.1km well, now back in the grind to get sub-19.30 5km after losing my old fitness.
funny thing is i have never hit sub-9 2.4km.
my best timing was 9:44 during my NS days.

hmm not sure if i can achieve that now at this age. old liao.

Your goals will be adjusted as you learn more about yourself. The important thing is always have a goal, and that's how I sustained for more than 15 years of serious running. It's not passion nor health. When one goal is achieved or not , immediately set a new one.

Very nice weather after a heavy rain. Slight drizzle when I started around 7:50pm.
Coros measurements 27C, abit like air con when the wind blows .

Ah, so what's your goal / reason behind the longevity of your running?

I think it's still health at the bottom of it, but I just don't bother about any health metrics like losing weight, or looking at cholesterol or blood glucose level. I still anyhow eat.
But the motivation to carry on all those years is setting different running goals at various points of time. So now is I am more concern of my running metrics rather than health metrics. But still just hope my health is not rock bottom.

@Ender boss can i know what the weather condition will be like for marathons here in Singapore.
will it be roughly the same as yesterday night? or slightly warmer if the start time is around 6am?

my understanding is that running routes for marathons in Singapore are almost always at Marina Barrage.
how is the route condition like? up or down slope or mostly flat?

I think you are referring to races in general? Coz for marathon, there's only one SCSM in December.
Weather in the morning is unpredictable. If you get weather like this week, then shiok. But if clear day, I think by 7am the sun is up, and 8pm can feel the heat. That's why last time I avoid races that starts at 7am or 6am if it's HM.
The usual route at marina is usually flat for most races. Except of SCSM FM where you have to climb up the via bridge at Keppel and the around 37km mark, the dreaded Sheare bridge.

I had the same feel in my early morning run yesterday. Felt like in AC room when there some gentle breeze, temp at 25degC as per coros apps.
How’s weather over in SG this morning? Over here heavy rain and thunderstorm this morning. No chance for any runs.

For those going to GCM in the future, even they have nice weather and temperature, take note of the Australian Sun, they have very high UV index. Just look at Yuki complexion. Those sub 3 hours already darken, don't say those sub 4 or sub 5 hours, will even be darker.
