managed to hit my sub 2 but it was tough due to the many uphill climb.

this whole event is a **** show from the start till the end. lack of signage and manpower to handle such a big crowd. it has been 2 hours and i am still queuing to collect my bag.

lesson learnt. i will only go for SCM next year as i heard it’s really well organized.

Many years back, when SCSM had their start line at Orchard road, also mesy bag deposit. Many runers were still queuing for the bag deposit when the MC start the count down . I think that was before Ironman took over the organizing. Next year they say SCSM organizer will be another race evnt company as Ironman contract finish liao after a few years.

Goes to show how inexperience organizer is. Should collect the event Tee right after medal, before going out to the village.
Totally agree. There are so much room for improvement right from the collection of the ultra tight singlet Design.
In my opinion, there were too many U turns for the 21km route counted at least 4. Saw got one person even had a nasty gnashed on the nose with blood and a bump on the head seeking medical help at the end of the finishing line. They could at least have some signs for the Finisher Tee Collection or like what Ender said, just hand it out after collecting the medal. Many were confused and has to ask as many thought the snaking Q were for Baggage Collection as it is at the same area. Lack of signage along the route , I don't think I saw 18km and the water point were messy, wanted to pick up a drink and drink on the go but it was not even filled. Lastly, wanted to ask for one more can of the Apple Celsius drink but were rejected blantly as one person is entitled to one . Far from a cry from the well organised SCSM last year...will not sign up again for this. Too bad both Ascis and Garmin are both reputable brands but the organiser..shrugs

Wow......

Maybe next time wear bicycle helmet run liao. :ROFLMAO:

Yet another reason why i try PB attempts i just DIY solo. Even tho is "GPS distance", i think overall is a better/more fruitful attempt.

Too many nonsense in races. (of coz it's part of the fun and whole package, but i too old for such things)

ps. Last year AHM i also jammed brake at around 4.00 pace, coz had to avoid one jogger coming at me/us in the other direction. After that within 500m i "DNF" liao, pain and gotta limp.
edit - actually not DNF, but i could not run, just racewalked the last 3km or so

Sounds bad.

I did the Garmin HM before Covid. They held it in Punggol last time and I thought it was pretty well organized. Sad that the number of local runs seem to be decreasing.
