For many years already. For casual go gai gai and also for cycling. They are semi covered so they don't look sloppy as compared to open toe sandals or slippers. They also dry quickly when wet. Very versatile sandals.How long have you been wearing them?
What bike did you buy? I cycle much lesser now and jog more due to the weather.

4 x 800s @ 10k current pace -1 min/km
Recovery: 2 min for each set. After last set, 8 min rest.

Enjoy. Need to get as fit as soon as possible by training and taking care of biomechanics and strength training etc (which is a good thing), actually even fitter than what you experienced and seeing the general running scene. I think very soon you will know what i mean.
ps. But the good thing is that it is very cooling vs running.
The caveat is that, you cannot stop. Once you stop for anything > 2 mins, you will know what the meaning is SWEAT.
