Expensive lah....save the money and hoot more shoes or races at home.

I dont recall you digging oversease marathon tourism.
(the same for me, even though i dig cycling a lot i still cannot accept overseas cycling holidays, maybe if i have a couple of million dollars then maybe lah)
Race in SG boring, hot, and always same route.

I have done a few overseas ones in SEA. Only this year started venturing further. Ok lar, if planning holiday for wife or family, might as well do a marathon also.

Japan still ok, if plan carefully and take budget airline, one pax expense less than $1K.

I Share one more anecdotal snippet.
My FIL used to have cholesterol issue. Got it under control and largely under the upper limit during body checkup test. Stopped meds. Healthier lifestyle, good clean diet + brisk walking.
I started him on eggs, 3-4 daily. (no, not 1-2). Initially he hesitant. I told him no issue but he must maintain his clean and good diet with real foods.
3-4 eggs for 1 year....semi hard boiled, a wee bit of soba sauce for taste. He most times adds pepper also. He loves eggs, but then the cholesterol readings spoilt his appetite.
Then just late last year went for another annual checkup.
Cholesterol and triglycerides all swee swee one. No need meds.

I'm having this concern and avoid some (not totally) egg yolks. I will only eat 1 yolk per day.

Tot it is tasteless with only a very slight chemical, for me i just hold my breath and mix it in the mouth.
Beta Alanine seems slightly sweet when dry scooped.
Oh....the included cholesterol ah.
Your triglyceride level ok? MY belief is that this is really key.
Branched chain amino acids ah. Probably not say very useful.....need other "full/complete" amino acids as well
It's just like whey protein, not typically intended for weight loss. It is incompete. Same for even Mg, Ca, D3, boron, if taken alone without good diet/complete food, not say very useful. Too many co-factors.....these things dont work "alone".

Triglycerides OK. HDL high enough. Only problem is with LDL. Now borderline high. I am confident I can further improve it.

JP/Tokyo and TW/Taipei are the only countries in which if wanna do additional overseas marathons then can do.....coz of the weather and good value for the money spend of getting a decent holiday there. (JP more attas grade overall).

Valencia, NY, London, Gold coast etc i'd say forget it, unless for sportsman who are sponsored coz of specific courses and wanna PR there.

If tri is good then dont sweat it with regards to any cholesterol indicator, esp since you have been a regular exerciser since young days. Unless if your diet has been hardcore jialat type for very long and ex smoker etc.

My last appointment with high cholesterol for a long period had resulted in statins prescribed for me. I ate a few pills then decided to restrategise my lifestyle change and stopped taking statins on my own. My recent blood test is showing better results and I'm going to ask the advanced practice nurse during my upcoming appointment to stop my statin prescription. I hope she would agree, or she better convince me harder.

Well, I’ve never been to London and New York City before. So, good excuse for me to go there, though I might need to do solo trips because my missus could not take leave.

Ok lar, I would rather spend money to create memories than buy expensive electronics or luxury goods.

If u buy road bike, u tend to ride with group and then u will buy more and more expensive models. If u can't keep pace with the group, exit and join a slower group. Don't over exert and cause any accident.

For my case, I cycle slightly more than 3 decades. As I age I try to switch from cycling to running.

thank you for your advise. Previously rode Brompton foldie on pcn, then changed to specialized sirrus 4.0 hybrid bike to ride on pcn and road.

only ride on road around 11pm plus near my estate. But tempted by road bike. Saw the trek madone just now. Or maybe a tarmac sl8 pro or expert.

but still considering cos road bike more expensive I don’t want buyer remorse and currently enjoying my hybrid bike

Best is do running, cycling and upper body strength training; add swimming also good. I see so many cyclists neglecting their upper body. Many of them lost muscles when over trained in cycling. Hopefully they don't lose bone mass as well.

Is it cyclists big backside big thighs lol

Soleus. Best bang for your buck, dont skip your things like calf raises, skipping rope, pogo hops....... bent / single legged whenever possible.

Not scientific, but i think it also helps your 2 common types of injuries for runners. You know which 2 areas lah.
But need to be very very patient for this, the resilience is very very slowly built up.
