Last sunday at running lab run I missed sub 40 by 40s, definitely can relate to starting out too fast. When I hit pb for 5km while doing 10km haha. I think balanced should be good. All the best

Your one is just like any other road race but i think running lab shd not be too crowded, you started really in front so you managed to start out too fast?

With a known running track like 800m or stadium track, much easier to track pace in terms of time duration.
Basically is 90 seconds or below every 400m if you wanna aim 18:45 and below for 5k and 96 seconds for 10k. In between can rely on GPS as rough guide. Can negative split swee swee also, i tried before....that's why the timings splits i posted like quite nice, km splits within a few seconds diff.

Then the more you try like i mentioned before, the experience factor, the better you get.

So just go DIY a bit more, even if cannot hit you can treat it as a workout.

The other polar extreme is once a year race...... Like T100, difficult to pace esp for amateurs like me with no real life experiences. Some cycling clubs really race (Malaysia, Thailand etc) heckloads one.

Think the cameraman themselves semi pro or very good amateurs themselves...some of them podium winners.

Nowadays seriously not many "true" beginners good shoes, other than the typical Novablast and Evo SL jack of all trades type, but for sure overbudget. The best thing about the BMAI (very well received) is that anyone interested can still try, as far as chinese shoes are concerned, esp for fit and midsole feel for bounce etc.

But the chinese typical trainers, i feel not there yet atm, but the supershoes/performance cat is of coz the direct opposite. Like as if they are pouring most if not all resources into the high performance category to give you best bang for the buck effect.
BMAI is launching Jingtan Fly Plus soon, which appear to have a thicker midsole than Fly. Akan Datang.

Back from session, went to the top and saw the machine, NBCB signage turned off liao.

Anyway, best not to go Mt Faber late at night. Not many cars / pple and it's super creepy now during 7th month. Went up via Kg Bahru and my hairs all stand.
Came down that time Pender Rd hairs also all stand.

wow i read the comments and seems like they also change the plate for Fly

and heavy heart beat for white gold 惊碳 3 Turbo
there are rumors that BMAI may be launching a Ultra version for the Fly series later this year. Not sure if is true.

Wow, seems like for those who really want to max out their performance for endurance events, even overall gut health (worst is chronic inflammation due to whatever reasons) the days/week prior also raceday need to take care. Can drop by 30%...which can be the factor of you hitting or not hitting your goal or worse even bonking out for long races as the deficit grows.
