Went to google for original thread on reddit + video, it is here.
Saw the vid, i think a bigger issue is that the 2 road bikes saw the boy at the beginning of the video and were trying to avoid him, hence the momentary lapse in concentration for the 2nd cyclist until he IDed the lizard and it was too late. Speed to fast to e-brake (dangerous too).
But really too fast, esp that was downslope part. Manuvering that fast past the boy is very risky, coz i know that area and what the people would do there very well. Some are very unpredictable.
And whenever i see kids, i will brake one and go quite slowly (below 15kmh).......
That's why you ask me why i come across so many accidents. It's coz that area really is not like the other typical PCNs. And that area like Robinson/Cecil and Shenton is one of the main routes, actually is literally need to pass by that area one, for those doing road cycling (not me, but i use small portions for faster access to other areas during low traffic periods) , for Keppel / Nicoll.
Anyway i just came back from 9pm drone show, i saw some cyclists going above 15kmh when the crowds dispersed. Suicidal. I only dare to go ~ 10kmh.
