700 x 7 is a harder workout than 600 x 8, not just the overall distance increment but also the longer run cycles.![]()
Trying out track run mode as suggested by @Ender. 7X700m at 4min/km with 200m jog, rest a bit then 4x400m at 1:30 with 200m jog.![]()
The expected pace is usually slower even if you factor in a longer rest duration for each set.
You kept your rest time roughly the same and managed to keep to the timing of the 700m. That shows some improvement from last week, but also your 400m took a hit in overall pace, which reflects the harder intensity of 700 x 7 vs 600 x 8
I used to do 800 x 6 with 4 minute rest compared to 400 x 12 with 2 minute rest, the former was harder. I ran a lot slower for the 800 x 6 (1.29/400m) vs 400 x 12 (1.24/400m).
