I don't even know how accurate is Garmin's vo2max. After cross training for the past 1.5 months, my vo2max went up from 55 to 58 then now drop back to 57. LOL
Very big difference between the way you and I decide to train.
1: I increase my weekly mileage from 50 > 55 km/week from July.
2: I increased my long run distance from 10km in early June to 14-15km in late June.
3: My hard runs are more focused on 1.5k race pace and now targeting 3k race pace, which is more in line with vo2max.
4. My total hard run % is low. Last week, ran 58km with (2 x 2.4km threshold runs, 8 x 0.4km intervals). Even if I include strides/random sprints, also don’t exceed 15%. This week, I did 4 x 0.8km and 2.6km threshold run, aiming for 55k week. That’s bordering close to 10%.
So in summary, will keep hitting my goal interval/threshold times without getting injury
I am using saf shoe to run and to walk.
But in term of comfort, I rate it 6 out of 10.
In terms of durable, I rate it 9 out of 10.
Walking is alright, I think in works well as a cross training gym shoe. Yes it can last long, I have ran in it for 480km and still fine. Just that I don’t feel that I recovered after running in those shoes
