Actually there's no official definition of max cushion shoes, it's up to the manufacturer to decide what range of their shoes would be maximalist. So some less than 40mm heel stack, they classify as max Cushion.
NB 1080 I would considered as their maximalist shoe, but then they release a even more stacked height called Fresh Foam More.

For me , as long more than 35mm can liao, good for short recovery runs. Coz I see the 远征者4.0, older model, cheaper, less than $50 can get. I can't find the spec, so ask around here if they are in the same cat as the NB 1080.. Seems like it is.
Can't speak for 4.0.

I got the 5.0 and don't like it. OK cushioning but poor energy return.

My cushioning rating

Xstep 氢风 - 5/10
Xstep 2000km - 6/10
远征者5.0 - 6.5/10
Novablast 2 - 7.5/10
QD Team2.0 - 7.5/10
Rebel 3 - 8/10
Endorphin Speed 3 - 8/10
Novablast 3 - 8.5/10 (when new)
QD Plaid - 9.5/10

I call the first 3 China shoes my backside itchy hoots. Waste money. :s13:

Having said that, i still want to try Anta PG7, even if just for casual walking.

Oh ya, i feel 远征者5.0 is a support shoe instead of full neutral. It guides my running a certain way.

Whenever i run/walk with support shoes, my IT band will flare up almost certainly so that's another reason I don't wear the shoes anymore.

Anyway at 50 bucks, 4.0 is worth a gamble. Can't be worse than Army shoes.

Thanks for the detail comparison among your shoes. My ideal replacement actually would be the Novablast again. I kinda like the Novablast v2 for my slow days for recovery. Especially when my legs are fatigue from a previous workout,.so soft cushion is nice for this type of run. But seems like Novablast v3 are out of stock every where, I have looked last week. v4 is still too new for the price to come down to my acceptable level. LOL.

S$50, just buy and try lah. you won't know until you try. Personally i feel 5.0 is a very decent running shoe, only issue is i perspire too much which is not suitable for summer time running. So i am saving for non-summer days to run. Yes, its definitely suitable for recovery slow runs.
I beginning to watch Little Red Notebook for user reviews. Seems like rubbing and blister is an issue for v4.0 and 5.0. But I don't intend to do long runs in them, just recovery in them, shouldn't be an issue, can gamble.

Good summary, very useful for us who have not tried those running shoes. You have many Chinese brands running shoes, soon you will have more than me.

Personally i think it will do well in recovery runs, which i have tried a 10km run some 2 months ago. I didn’t have issues on rubbing and blisters, but the permeability of the material isn’t quite suitable for summer condition for me (some reviewers have pointed out similar views). It serves me now as a pair of casual walking shoe until weather gets cooler. If you don’t mind taking a S$50 gamble, i think there is nothing much to lose , especially there are new color ways.

I'm slowing down. Only plan to get the Anta PG7. Next is Fuelcell Rebel4, 1080V13, Novablast4.

But I'm not running alot anymore, 30-40km per week.

At this rate, hard to wear out my current rotation. Probably wait for discounts and buy those obiang colours. :s13:

Go for it man.

I saw 4.0 is available on Taobao Plus. Can buy and try on. If not suitable, can return in Singapore.

But of course, won't know the running feel just by wearing it.

I have the Rebel v4, not sure how it compares to v3. It is too soft for my poor right ankle, but it feels good to run at different pace, quite responsive in terms of bounce.

30-40km/week (150-200km/month) is still quite a healthy bit of mileage as a recreational runner. Keep it going my friend.

I like novablast 3 for my daily runs. Enough cushioning for slow paces
