Actually I was doubtful the dead was partially caused by the WCH as he/she finished the FM at 0715 hour from what I read in FB which was still very early and the sun still not really up yet 🤔
The deceased ran the HM? Finish at 715 is sub 3 if she ran FM, very elite level that is as fast as sry.
I was at the wch before 9am, the sun was still blocked by the clouds, wasn't too bad at that time.

I also saw 1 young girl at HM fainted but she was nearing the finishing think at the 18 Km mark so cannot be her since news reported completed.

Got a bit of spare time, go digged a bit.

0715hr ah.... then for this particular case, the contributing factor is most probably not due to the heat stress triggering the main medical issue, unless if the fella is not terribly heat adapted (eg AC gym treadmill running or overseas pax), yesterday at 5am + still 29 deg C heat index temp when i checked before we went out to cycle, 7am should still be 30 deg C heat index max.... Not really the cooling type like last week, but still not really warm. But once the sun comes out as the cloud cover breaks as shown in the Prischew video, it'd spike up

From the data below, seems like after 0915h then the clouds broke. Then also have to factor in the skin/body absorption of IR radiation from direct sunlight, in addition to the rising heat index temperature.

But of coz for others (FM) if kena WCH after 9am and needed medical attention as not feeling well / dizzy / migraine, see stars light headed or throbbing bp up in the head (HBP?) etc, then it's likely heat related liao.

Was walking on west coast highway from about 0930 to 1030. Really hot as hell. People mostly walking then.

Sheesh now i dont have my portable "weather station" that i gotten from Taobao, pai liao.
If not i can try measuring the actual ground conditions (ie just 0.5m away from the asphalt on the viaduct ) on WCH viaduct this coming Fri/Sat/Sunday just for kicks. 😅
I wanna know, even though it'll just be a rough approximation to yesterday's conditions as 2 days are never the same.

And then next April i go try measuring again, that time hottest. :ROFLMAO:

I used to be 58 to 59kg. For my height . Is already quite lean . But after I lost another 3 to 4 kgs to my current weight. (Below 55kg) I feel my running form is better and able to run faster . I don't want to go back to the high 59kg back .

I want to run a few more full marathon before 50 as long I am healthy to run.
Will be increasing my weekly mileage from 55 to 60km/week next year.

So, I need to eat more than I currently eat in order to run more.
I also saw 1 young girl at HM fainted but she was nearing the finishing think at the 18 Km mark so cannot be her since news reported completed.
I would do my best to help anyone that falls or faints in front of me, I think that's the best way I can do to assist.

For people who are interested in stats. You can swipe left/right for more graphs.

The average women running 15 minutes slower than the average men is quite impressive when the leading women runs 23 minutes slower than the leading men. It goes to show the women take running more seriously if they do decide to go on a marathon.

Also, there's this race, Run for Light

Run report - Mt Fuji marathon 2024

before the run

My first marathon since 2012 didn’t had much training . Only did 1 run of 30 km in Singapore .
Coming in, only brought one running shorts and running shirt but realized it was insufficient as the temperature has dropped to below 10 degrees at Kawaguchiko area . Bought some thermal running attire in Tokyo before moving on . Didn’t even try out
During run
Weather was approximately 0-3 degrees when I started . felt good till 22 km when they put the 8% slope . And ran walked the remaining 21 km or so . Came in at 5:40 or so

The run has a cut off time of 6 hours with no finisher tee . Just a medal and a towel to prove you finished . Overall good experience has a festival like atmosphere

equipment
Gel kayano 31
Garmin instinct 2
New balance windbreaker / thermal pants
Mizuno running shorts
Rigors thermal shirt
