I sweat a lot and had water every 2 km during my training long runs. Hydration wasn't sufficient for sure. I felt the hydration points were far and between and were not sufficiently manned. Runners were waiting for 1-2 mins to get just 1 small cup of water. I also had to ask for a refill, thankfully the staff were not stingy and provided more. I should've brought my own bottle of water though.

The area near water points were also abit dangerous because water was spilled everywhere and cups were thrown on the ground. I think they could've provided more bins, up to 50m after the water point. I don't know how they are going to sweep up all the cups and gel packets because I saw a lot of littering :s13:.
Actually quite normal, in fact in other marathons overseas you will see them scattered everywhere, it is better cause you don't clog up the water point and it will be easier for them to clean later on. I know it looks weird for us sinkies who educate from young to throw everything in bin but prioritise keeping pace in marathon.

I skipped some stations, hydration wasn't as big of an issue for me but rather running out of available energy. Think the stations should have more manpower and more filled cups before the start, and also runners need to keep going after drinking instead of slowing down too much.

Best part is the course still doesn't add up to 21.1km.

Based on compensation I did, it is close (maybe a fraction short of 21.1km), but the gap between km is not exactly consistent probably, I think 19-20km area was longer than 1km to compensate for some of the areas where it is a little short. Also if you cut tracks the distance might be a bit shorter also.

At least it is not the 20km one that they initially released previously.

I read that those from pen E, had no hydration after 10km. Ran out of cups. Some had to take whole bottle and share.

Terrible organizer. Especially since they have been organizing this race for so many years. Hydration logistics is the most basic, need to get this right.

Asia’s Toughest Duathlon, Titan 77.7 Philippines back with Toughest Bike Route

https://www.asiatri.com/2024/09/asi...-7-philippines-back-with-toughest-bike-route/

Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga – September 15, 2024 – The highly anticipated Titan 77.7 Philippines, hailed as Asia’s toughest duathlon, is set to challenge endurance athletes once again in the heart of Clark Freeport Zone. Organized by GoClark Sports, this intense race will push participants to their limits with a demanding course featuring a 4km run, a 100km bike ride, and a final 21km run.

Participants in the full Titan 77.7 event will begin their race with a 4km run in picturesque Filinvest Mimosa+ Leisure City, offering a mix of false flats and shaded paths lined with acacia trees, creating a deceptively mild start. However, the real challenge begins with the 100km bike course, which features the Airport-New Clark City access road (ANAR). Duathletes will face over 1,000 meters of elevation, with several long and steep climbs that will test even the most experienced cyclists. This will be followed by a final 21km run, designed to truly test the endurance of athletes as they make their way to the finish line.
