pro 3 arrived one day after ordering (y)
just back from a 8k progression run from 6:30" to 4" ending with a sprint.
upper wise i did not experience any rubbing especially from the front eyelets or the achilles heel area. got to take it for a long run to be sure.
the ride is smooth and well balanced through the paces. But the prominent forefoot rocker does take some getting used to as I am used to flexible low stack shoes.
all in 118 well spent!

Also, I think @winningeleven said it takes some distance to break in. Could be even better after some more mileage

Power = force/strength/torque times velocity.

Dont let too many motor units become dormant. Once it is dormant, the signal is lost forever.

Got fever and solid feeling of malaise bro?

If no fever, there is a chance that it might be allergic rhinitis or sinusitis or similar. Or even nonallergic rhinitis.

Dry cough and a bit of runny nose yesterday. Still have the dry cough

get well soon

Thanks

You get well soon too. Off time for too long, fitness taking a big hit now.

Thanks, will see how my condition progress. Can do light runs but definitely nothing hard for the time being.

I think both my swimming and running are just above average. Nothing fantastic. Leisure swimmer and runner just looking to exercise to maintain my terrible eating habits.

My freestyle 50m pb was 36s and 750m was slightly above 15 minutes. I remembered the fastest in my team went 32s for 50m but he was only 15 at that time.

i have used multiple pairs of boston 10,11, and 12 and the LSP foam is essentially the same. it's a foam that need a break in period to be at its best. so not really concerned.
I was worried about all the upper rubbing issues that plagued almost every single review. I am incited to think that adidas have made some improvements to the rub points or that I am just lucky.

For me is communting by running. 🤣
Coz relatively short distance, so much so that commuting by bus does not make sense at all and is actually slower, not even cycling makes sense (no parking space at the building also).

4km daily each way / 8km both ways or similar to a single 2,4 very modest slow jog @ 7 min pace.
(~4.5 km, ~17 minutes one-way, 4-5 times per week)

The study compared cycle commuters with people who drive to work, the cyclists having a 31 per cent higher cardiometabolic fitness (peak aerobic power), something the researchers explain is "a key indicator of cardiovascular health".

At comparable body weights, the cycle commuters also had a greater proportion of fat-free mass, enhanced skeletal muscle oxidative metabolism and femoral artery blood flow, suggesting "superior overall circulatory function".

still trying to decide on my shoes for SCSM.....

1. superblast 2 (usual shoe i used for my LSD)
2. prime x2 strung (foot slippage, awkward high stack but the plates might serve me well after 30k)
3. qiaodan pb3.0 (i have only use those for intervals so far)

decisions decisions decisions zzzz

BTW, some might be wondering how to train for power.... in the context of for the running majority and cycling/swimming minority. Or even those vertical marathoners / stair climbers, or even for the walking fraternity.

There are other things like proprioception so need to be agile, chaotic and turn twist around etc, but shall not get into that.
Proprioception is the body's sense of its own position, movement, and balance in space, a subconscious process that relies on sensory receptors in muscles, joints, tendons, and the vestibular system. Also known as the "sense of body position" or kinesthesia, it allows for coordinated movement, like walking without looking at your feet or touching your nose with your eyes closed, and is crucial for activities requiring balance, agility, and coordination.

Stuff that have a power component in them.

1, Plyometrics. You can do this to improve running/cycling even stair climbing/(race or power) walking performance. It is basically a power and explosive based exercise.

2 Strength training but with explosive component. What you want is the velocity component, concentric explosive up, eccentric slow is one way. Partial fast and explosive reps is another.
Full ROM and slow reps with pauses / isometrics trains the whole muscle group(s) and has its place in strength but speed partials have its place as well. Do both.

3. Even if you dont do much plyometrics, you can focus more towards type 2 fast twitch training. Microburst intervals or even SIT or Sprint Interval Training, up to you see which one you enjoy. Enjoyment is important. You can feel that it is impossible to run a 2:30 FM or even a 16 min 5k and that is not untrue, the aerobic component involved is really no bloody joke it truly is very inaccessible for most, but I simply dont believe that a 50-60 yr old cannot touch like 17s 75m/20s 100m even with consistent DIY training, though it might take a while if BMI is high and you gotta lose weight, in order to satisfy this power component. If velocity is too high and you find it difficult or "dangerous" at your training grounds coz you can hit 2:00 pace during longer 20s SITs or 45kmh during 40 seconds 130-140% FTP , you can do hill sprints or hill climbs (cycling).
. Be it 2A or 2X fibers or both, is still a win, at long as training is there and consistent for those in the middle age camp.
Also my personal experience with SIT is this, over time, your neuro and coordination would improve, your power/strength would improve to a decent degree even without resistance bands/drills/technique......your body adapts automatically to a certain degree.

edit - take care when doing these stuff of coz, as usual progressively loading it up VERY VERY SLOWLY and improving is key. You in your mid forties and fifties have all the time in the world bros unless if you still cheonging big money in your career.

40/20s microburst, 2:1 ratio.
Tip : even got video for you to playback on your phone. (I can hear it from my back cycling jersey pocket)
RPE intensity or 130-140% above FTP, you gotta find out how to get that.

Actually last evening i met and spoke to a group of mainly Hyrox athletes at my park /fitness corner. Pretty serious no joke fellas. Generally the concept same, power and strength. Aerobically is low 1hr effort.
Seen them (and they have seen me) doing their circuits outside the gym as a group quite a couple of times but no talk only.
I intrigued about Hyrox and they intrigued about cycling type training as aerobic cross training but i shared with them some running stuff also and why i do dips/deadhangs/push ups/pull ups/high resistance semi bent calf raises. lol

Durability term used in running as well.........

Most marathoners train hard… but they don’t train for durability. That’s why so many fade after 20 miles. In this video, I break down how to build real marathon durability—through pacing, threshold training, strength work, and smart long runs. Whether you’re chasing a PR, running your first 26.2, or an ultra marathon, these principles will keep you strong all the way to the finish line.

Condensed version of the performance head/coach at UAE Team Emirates and 2 (or was it 3 years) coaching Pogi. Current coach for pogi is another fella now for 2 years.

15:00 is most important Dont overcomplicate - chose modality that you enjoy and you can maintain/show up consistently - over complicating with trying to hit a scientific HR number and obsess about the number of minutes is not going to do you any good….

It can be cycling, running, swimming, power/racewalking.

@bbbbbw

10s and 30s gonna suffer a bit, probably 1 and even 3 mins. This is in line with quite a few others i have come across as well.

But if you are gonna be in aero tuck or put on TT bars esp (time trial, triathlon/duathlon) a fair bit of the time and you are riding solo, you are gonna love it. Esp if you cannot even touch the top part of your socks when bending down (eg like NAPFA sit n reach), be it hammies tightness issue or sciatica nerve issue that cannot go away or improve without pre workout nerve flossing.

This position thingy also explains and confirms how he got +1 kmh on the road in Zone 2.
If you are able to capitalize this point, this is a very very high benefit to cost ratio.

@rarenick

See how the heat stress affected him in Z2 as well, on the trainer.
