Still using my Garmin 965 for 3 years already. Actually I expected more from a $700 smart watch. I wear it to track my sleep but if I wake up at 3am and went back to sleep again.. the watch won't count my sleep after that ...although I slept more than 6 to 7 hours that night. It counted as 4 hours sleep..
I think 265 AMOLED is buggy.

The older models can last longer.

Sleep tracking hours is quite accurate for me.

did a 35k with pace this morning @ just under 3 hours. 2nd 35k in under 3h this month.
if I target 2028 BM, i will be 55 then and BQ is 3h30m.. take into competitive margin of about 4mins+. If finished under 3h25m should be relatively safe. given current fitness... seems very doable...

Im still using my Huawei GT Runner ($170-180 watch but mine discounted to 120 coz gonna disconti nue in 2022). Since late 2022 :ROFLMAO: My wife also has one working a-ok, but last year she lost it in hospital during IV medication drip so changed to apple now.

I think can use at least 2 more years wrt the battery capacity/health, batt quite good durability.... since last year i already try to manually stop charging at 80-85% by using alarm function on my phone to alert. Somemore is for cycling, last time as many as 20 hrs / week (for HR, but lanlan GPS also switched on coz workout mode).

My kid uses better watch than me.

edit - only "issue" is that it only has 4GB of storage, so i need to delete songs before adding. 8-12GB would be very nice.....dont really need simi 32 or 64GB. (coz 128kbps mp3 nia).
Wah....just searched, nowadays they pushing 128GB already, with 5G connectivity
Your battery still going strong? Amazing.

If it is 2028, i think got chance to sub-3. But must be very disciplined throughout.

Indeed, but nowadays i am only switching on GPS for those fast group rides, more for HR tracking.
Normal workouts, i just tap the heart icon on the main screen for on-demand HR sampling...., it will then live sample for around 30 seconds, and once it stops, then it'd be displayed for around 1 min and if i were to i flick my wrist it'd re-measure again, so i can re-do this over and over again for a reasonable stretch eg for longer duration intervals.
No need for GPS, which is the main batt sucker. Music playing is relatively low in electrical consunmption

For easy paces is very easy, just nose breathing and RPE can liao.

BQ for 2027 & 2028 is fixed. sub-3??!! :ROFLMAO: we no longer our 30s or 40s

Can try to TT a 10k, if can get below 38 mins then sure you can try that as a challenge.

Somemore HM/FM (ie endurance focussed) naturally favours older folks.

If trying to gun 1500m and below and play with young folks, then yes, might be too ambitious. I already get this feeling in group 1 rides with teens and aged 20 adults, when they surge or go Faber and esp Sentosa, the Sentosa rolling hills where you have 30 seconds to 1 min near max or max power, then you recover (FAST), and then you have do it all over again.
repeated VO2max and anaerobic efforts, both strength and neuro needed.

A few times i also tried to pace the few local racing groups @ Sentosa, they really quite fast for these efforts.

Actually 15k of 58 mins, technically more than close enough to hit 3hrs flat or 10k sub 38.
Of coz in order not to waste the money travelling overseas, need to sharpen until comfortably below that. :ROFLMAO: Guess jJust need to modify training for FM and then sharpen a bit more.

haven't TT 10K in a while. last TT was 15K under 58 mins.
BM is more like a bucket list.. more for the participation than outright race timing. I am not a race orientated person to begin with.
