BTW, regarding to my earlier haze post earlier. I think Kuching marathon in Sep high chance gg already (above API 200) unless they are extremely lucky on race day and experience a drastic more easterly based wind shift (ie we in SG will kena then from Kalimantan)

There is no u-turn for Kalimantan haze now, conditions exploded since yesterday.

Anyway, in history, KLSCM was cancelled back in 2015 then due to this. But as for now, still dont see any risk based on the current situation from S Sumatra/Jambi.
Hence, pls dont misunderstand that i am fearmongering or what. Just sharing for any actions that anyone here might make and consider for their plans.

Sarawak is very bad now. I was in KL and Genting last week, it got visibly pretty hazy to the north of Melaka. There was a choking smell and got a slight sore throat and nose was allergic. Also had to use my asthmatic medications, just in case as I felt a flare up coming.

Did not know that KL Standard Chartered got cancelled before due to haze.
Hope that does not happen as I have signed up for it!

Yes, last week Peninsula MY kena hit by haze, Klang Valley KL and surrounding areas got to around AQI levels of 180, 190 with some areas peaking in the low 200s. Penang, Ipoh area also kena.

Races here and iirc in MY also start to kick in their contingency plans at AQI 200 (AQI 200 is same level as our NEA's PSI 200 and API 200 used in MY) from what i see on aqicn, an air quality website.
For Singapore, if i rem correct, back in 2015, some local SG races change their routes to shorter or something even at PSI 150. There was a bro (zero90) who was asking me about the health effects and about SCSM and another race i think it was POSB run or something, it was ultimately affected i think coz it was over PSI 150, but not cancelled totally but some longer distances were affected. Of coz SCSM in Dec not affected coz Dec sure no haze.

Since you seem to be in the susceptible group, i think even at "low" levels of say PSI 100-150 range you gotta be mindful.
As per AI, at LT1, you could be breathing in as much as 8 times volume of air compared to resting state.
At LT2, you could be breathing as much as 12 times volume of air vs resting state.
Now, you mentioned that you already felt a bit unwell at AQI/PSI levels of just under 200, at approx resting respiratory rates.

For eg, 1hr PM2.5 concentration of 100 ug/m3, just for simplicity sake that it "corresponds" to around a PSI of 150....... that means during running at LT1 for 1 hour, it is possible that it's as if you were to be similarly exposed to PM2.5 of 800 ug/m3 for 1 hr at rest.
LT2 for 1hr, that is equivalent 1200 ug/m3 at rest.

So would that acutely trigger anything or not, even for just 30-60 mins time frame, that i do not know. But personally since i am also sensitive in certain ways (esp headaches coz of haze), you do not look at 24-hr readings for these acute reactions.
It is always good to be cautious and mindful.
