The bonus is given to the referrer and both of you will receive the notification email at the same time. Bonus is typically given out in the 2nd month after you start school.

You just have to trust the referrer.

After all, the principle behind refer-a-friend was for the referrer to enjoy the bonus. Profit-sharing was not the main factor behind the scheme.

You can get each other's details and bug the referrer when you receive the email...

I have been looking out for the $1000 rebate for SMF?
1. Is the rebate still available for Jan 2015?

For the course,
Bachelor of Science in Cyber Forensics, Information Security and Management
And
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

2. Is there any programming involves for either one of the course?

My laptop just up lorry, I am using company laptop (able to do most of the stuff but without admin privileges). Not planning to buy laptop soon.

3. Is there a need to install any program with admin throughout the both course?

Appreciate anyone that study double major to certify my doubts.

Hi , I also think of joining in Jan 2015, most prob kaplan, but smf have 1000 rebate while kaplan has 300? Im looking at Business information systems and cyber forensics blah blah blah.

Hi Ezylryb,

The current refer a friend rebate is $600 for Bachelor courses for the September intake. Do take note that if you register now and they increase the rebate next month, you won't qualify for the increase. Happened when a fellow member here signed up 3 days before they increased the bonus.

Hi, anyone don't mind enlighten me on going to Kaplan Murdoch courses compare to SIM. I'm really afraid after i graduate my employer under pay me or not recognizing my cert.
And one of my friend have been telling me to go SIM since I'm holding a TP diploma cert as according to him Kaplan degree is more for people who hold private Diploma.

Hi JedCapsInc,

Are you referring to UniSIM or SIM GE? SIM GE is also a private institution,similar to Kaplan and SMF Institute of Higher Learning. It doesn't matter if you're holding a diploma from Temasek Polytechnic. Rather, look at the university courses that they are offering, be it Murdoch University or RMIT/UOL/UB etc.

As for recognition, it depends on your potential employer and the industry you're applying to. Certain industries favour graduates from certain institutions.

I'm hestitating between SMF & Kaplan.

Taken my diploma in SMF and want to continue with Degree...But SMF's class schedule was crazy...they told me accounting modules will be in intensive 3weeks of 8lessons instead of 12lessons over 12weeks.

While Kaplan told me their was 12lessons over 12weeks.....

Can someone currently with Kaplan or smf give me some opnion?

Dude, I grad with a poly diploma with gpa 3.8 and I'm with Murdoch. The reason why I not in NUS/NTU cos age is not on my side.

Pardon me for being blunt, but you got to do some rethinking on how a cert is gonna add value to your CV. Not say got degree means higher pay or lower pay, but am pretty sure your character/experience/connections have bigger bearings on your paycheck.

Seen to many kids in my classes who naively believes having a degree will enhance their salary. If that is really the case, perhaps its true with NUS/NTU degrees la.

Did you ask SMF why are their modules so intensive? Are they trying to match the pace of the graduation ceremony (so you can graduate earlier) or is it due to lecturers' availability?
