(rising hand) khmm... for one who never been in this KSL mall, can someone explain what is the hype about?

It is a mall is not it? What is so different comparing it to City Square Mall or any mall in Singapore (well, except prices probably).

Product selection? Service? (well, that's sarcasm) Something else?

Just curious.

Bakuteh is Soon Soon Heng Bakuteh. It is very easy to find, you can see it as it is directly opposite KSL.

The Wanton mee, i heard got 2 stalls.
益和云吞面 (Restoran Yit Foh)
何成記 云吞麵世家 (Restoran Ho Seng Kee)
I read these 2 are nearby somewhere near the Caltex petrol kisok near KSL Mall.

I have no chance to try thus I cannot comment. But i'll make sure I try next time. :)

dont try the caltex one, wait very long for it, the soup and noodle is tasteless also.

For food selection, I prefer City Square.

KSL Resort Hotel

Made a booking via Agoda for tomorrow and realized it's the apartment which is a separate block.

Is it really inconvenient to access from the shopping mall? Should I try to switch to the hotel rooms?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. :)

I've never been there but i ever read in trip adviser review that the entrance is the other side but shopping mall while should be same (below). Different swimming pool and room interior all different.

Thank you! :)

Went to check out the apartment and must say it's pretty alright for its price. It's already stated online while we're making the booking - no room service, etc, as the prices are for room-only. Included stuff already listed online, and we're quite surprised to find more than expected - the kitchen equipped, and the fridge empty so it's good for those who want to cook in there. Toilets have the appropriate toiletries provided too.

I find it's pretty alright for the $ paid - good if one wants extra space, a more quiet environment, etc - and willing to make do with what's already provided.

We found 2 options of access - one is via the outside of Coffee Beans, walk in from the carpark entrance - security guard, guard room, check-in office, lift lobby, are all there. Another option is via the check-in office, card-access via a door into the mall, before 10pm.

Yes, every door in there is via a security card, obviously for tighter security than the hotel. Sets of 2 cards are issued - white one to access the various doors and lifts, and the black one to access the apartment. Lifts were OK during our stay - there're 4 lifts with one on each side serving our floor. Right, two lifts each were programmed to access certain floors, and we're briefed upon check-in on the 2 access cards and also which lifts to use.

Overall opinion is the apartment was alright, just a little more inconvenient access to the mall as compared to the hotel, and much more quiet during our stay. I'd choose this for eating the pasar malam food in comfort. :s13:

Mutiara was formerly the Holiday Inn Hotel, next to Holiday Plaza Mall?

From what I've seen from my KSL room, pretty alright to walk at night, though you've to be alert. If you walk on the main road, there are cars almost all night long. If you walk along the shop houses - across from the traffic lights in front of Holiday Inn - should be quite alright as there are late night makan places, about 2 or 3 outlets along the road in front across from the Holiday Plaza, and the Geylang Porridge on the other road heading to KSL opens till about 4 or 5am.

Have watched the makan crowd twice, from around 3am, cars coming and going, many stopping for food. :s13:

Mutiara is kinda old ... Rates kinda similar to ksl hotel.
KSL apartment is cheaper, maybe 70+ per night.
But their lift can stuck from 30min to 2 hours, based on reviews online lol ...
Mutiara is beside holiday plaza ....

The one I went is along the same row as the Ampang Yong Tau Foo shop, also has a 7-Eleven further down the road nearer Holiday Plaza.

There were 2 or 3 shops selling WTM when I walked past late morning/early afternoon, but only one left opening - only one stall in the whole shop also seeing drinks - when I walked back mid-afternoon.

Saw it still opened in the evening, from my hotel room, but not sure what time it closed.

You stayed in the KSL apartment hotel right?

Can i check with you is it that the windows can be opened and there's no window grille? Thinking of booking cos the rates quite cheap but scare that my kids may fall from the window.

Then staying at the apartment hotel can access into the dinosaur swiming pool at KSL resort is it?
