still got durian stalls at KSL bo ? durian season like ending soon

Should still be there, since they're all Chinese stalls and not affected by the Raya holiday.

Raya weekend is affecting my ability to go over to check for you though; too crowded now. :s13:

With 2 stalls inside the mall, 1 right outside, 2 more along the street outside, plus Monday's pasar malam, bound to find something. ;)

Hi all

Have to make a solo trip to visit a vendor in Jalan Perisai, opposite Crystal Crown hotel, near the famous DA4 MA3 market and Shell Station.

Planning to take bus 170 from Kranji Station -> SG customs -> any SBS buses to JB customs -> JB customs -> JB sentral -> Bus S1 or IM-17 to KSL -> Walk to destination from KSL.

First time taking public transport in alone. So payment via coins or do I have to purchase a travel card like ezlink when I am at JB sentral? For the return trip, do I board at the same bus stop at KSL? Is there a more convenient route too? Please advise. Thanks..

Apart from 170 from Kranji, there's also a CW Link (yellow) bus from there (cash S$1/pax).

Payment for S1 and IM17 both cash RM1.50/pax.

Yes, same bus stop at KSL for return trip.

From the main road (Jalan Harimau Tarum?), S1 sometimes stops across the road from Plaza Pelangi if there's someone alighting, then turns left into Jalan Harimau. But I noticed sometimes it goes on straight (along the main road) and turns into Jalan Dato Sulaiman instead. Your destination is actually somewhere across the road before the JDS turn. If there's a bus stop, then you can just alight there, so need not walk from KSL (about same time taken if you walk over from Plaza Pelangi). Depends where the driver decides to turn...

Thanks for the reply! :s12: So the buses will ply along Jalan Harimau Tarum before turning to JDS to KSL? Then will try my luck by pressing the bell, if there is one!

More jittery than my own solo trips to Japan and Korea, though SG is closer to home.. :s22:

Just try to stay calm and move along; don't want to look nervous and attract undesirable attention. Can pop into the shops along the way if you think you're lost, as there are quite a few very friendly people around. :)

IM17 goes to Holiday Plaza before KSL, so it'll normally turn left into Jalan Harimau and go straight, or it might take another route sometimes.

If you can, ask the driver when you're boarding ... maybe mentioning Crystal Crown Hotel (nearest prominent landmark?) then he might advise where's best to alight, depending on which route he plans to take.

Oh wait ... I just recall some people here mentioning that some buses heading to Tebrau City pass through that main road. You can take those other buses, or S1/IM17 if you feel more comfortable as they'll eventually stop at KSL that's more familiar to you.

At JB Sentral, I sometimes approach one of the staff standing near the bus bay for directions. You can consider that too. :)
