The next upcoming big mall nearest to KSL should be Mid Valley.

Hoho. There is also Country Garden Shopping Mall coming up before mid 2018 within the JB city core. Good luck to existing malls. I do not see many occupants despite the large number of residential properties getting completed over the coming year. Without these numbers, the malls coming into the market are cannibalising on the existing 3.17 clientele. It will be Y2K over again.

Well not exactly nearest to KSL, AEON BDO will open on 7 Sep (Thu) which is only the EDL. So, it will be the next to-go place for the next few weeks.

After that, the crowd will shift to paradigm mall along the skudai highway.

For drivers only. This one is not served by buses, as far as I know.

i think ksl won't cease to exist as there is the hotel just right in the same building itself, walk out of ksl there are another 2 or 3 hotels nearby...sinkies will still go there makan/shop/movie/massage and staycation all under one roof, i know i would...
very convenient plus the big tesco there...

in its heyday everyone goes to holiday plaza for dvds or pirated LV, Gucci. now it is dead (i think). same thing may happen to ksl.

If two or more persons, don't even want to take bus S1. Just take grab car to KSL but I got one problem. Where to wait for grabcar in city square? Don't know the name of the waiting point. Anyone knows?

Same question too ... Normally i would wait at the back of the mall.
The place where people drop off to city square ...
Many people standing that area with grab on their phone ...

City Square Grab pickup point is outside Levi's. Komtar Grab pickup point is outside the Marks & Spencers. The sign beri big.

It won't shutdown, but it will probably languish like Holiday Plaza when the next new mall shows up in the core area. And I am not talking about areas outside where the AEON malls have found their foothold targeting JB locals who live in the suburbs. Holiday Plaza has a hotel right next to it too that is not helping much. The thing KSL has to do is therefore to make sure that its hotel and water theme park is constantly maintained, updated and attractive enough to draw people in and perhaps support the mall a bit.

Yup forgotten. there is padini at city square ... too long no go there already.
There is FOS also. they do sell formal clothing also... material not sure good or not .

I find Plaza Sentosa & Danga City Mall is worse off than Holiday Plaza, very quiet Malls.

There is a Metro Jaya at JBCC... They do have better range to offer.
Mark & Spencer is there on the ground floor

I think it will be better than Holiday Plaza. At least Tesco is there attracting many Singaporeans for "cheap" grocery for a nearby trip, no need to go far.

The pasar malam is another draw for many Singaporeans, let alone the locals. In fact, you can already see the effect from the 1st year till now, who are those that make it and those that don't. Walk around the mall and see for yourself where people frequent the most.

Same problem with shops in SG now....

I find Plaza Sentosa & Danga City Mall is worse off than Holiday Plaza, very quiet Malls.

Danga is going dead and even worse after UO store shifted out. I don't even bother to go there. Sentosa? There are many people who frequent the sport shop Honly..... including myself... many Singaporeans are there to buy cheap badminton racket and stuff. on the way buy grocery at The Store. Not forgetting the DIY shop is another one of the favourite for DIY stuff. However, all still suffer the same fate as holiday Plaza but somewhat better in some way. Who is surviving there? few shops left, Watson & Guardian still around. Hotel next to it and night makan.

Levi's there. Don't need 2 or more people la, I solo also use Grab/Uber. RM7-8 nia to KSL.

Take from JB Sentral also can.
