Thanks!

I'm planning to have dinner there anyway.

So long as you're not in a hurry, then it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm thankful to be allowed to play with my handphone while queuing for buses and especially immigration.

Best to avoid weekends especially before CNY. Super jam. Last Saturday, car jam, but by bus, not too bad. still can manage but custom clearing is full of people. Guess mostly for CNY goodies in CS and KSL contributing to most of the crowd. traffic update on one motoring at 7.05am was jam

To avoid getting stuck, best take leave and go on weekdays. However, sometimes things happen. Last Thursday went in, causeway empty nit custom clearing fill with people. about 1/3 queue for all counters when I went in in the morning clearing around 9.50am.

Today, went in was smooth and not many people. Surprise to me. However, I saw cars lining up before entering SG custom building. I took 913 passing by and alighting at bus stop opposite Sheng Siong. Cars pack at traffic light. I went Aeon Tebrau and while having lunch, met my colleague at the same restaurant. He asked me how long I waited at SG custom, I said I took bus, very smooth, but he told me he got stuck for 1 hour before clearing over SG side.
Its apparent to me when I update traffic watch, no heavy traffic on causeway is likely contributed by the inspection over at SG custom. Slow and restrict? thus less cars crossing over?

Yup, I did mention sometime back in the Johor thread that I noticed causeway might be clear, but could see long queues before the CIQ buildings, Woodlands and also Tuas. Since then I've been checking those other photos too.

Before 9am if possible, otherwise be prepared to join long queues.

Around 10am or so, Malaysians working night shift or late the night before will be heading home, locals and foreigners on day or weekend trips will be heading over after an early breakfast as well.

Thanks. You are really a Malaysia expert. Wahahahahahah

Which Berth to board bus 911 and 913 at woodlands interchange

Dear All

Anybody can advise which Berth number to board these buses that go straight to the checkpoint?
As from streetdirectory.com seems that both make eastern side loop first, go back to interchange then go to checkpoint. Thank you

I remember reading about these bus services, shared by a moderator IIRC, just a few days back. Try checking in the JB discussion thread.

I hope I got it right. Berth between 11-12. Ahead of you, you should see bus 950 stop at Berth 14 I think.
You will also find bus 856 too along with bus no. 911, 912, 913 which goes to KTM station stop opposite Sheng Siong.
Avoid bus 912, it takes a longer route reach. All buses stop outside the custom. only 950 goes directly into custom building. However, my advice to you, avoid as this is current heavily loaded due to CNY season buying.

For those going into JB, my advice to you. Avoid taking 950 as there is usually long queue of people since its the pre-CNY season buying. Yesterday, I went in, 950 was long queue around 9.25am. I took 911 and alighted outside KTM station opposite Sheng Siong. However, I noticed that before 911 turn into the last stop just before Sheng Siong, bus was already stuck just after the last traffic light due to jam on the road towards custom building. This is common during this time of the year.

I walk into the building, clear custom and then, another long queue of people waiting for 170 bus. I would say, not that bad although long queue.

Anyway, I saw a factory bus (blue colour) and pay RM2 upon alighting to the driver. No queue, driver drove off when his factory workers gone on board.

I met a colleague while having lunch at Tebrau Kim Gary. He asked me how long I waited to clear custom. I told him I took bus, but jam very moving. He told he got stuck at Woodland entering custom building for 1hour.

On the way back, causeway was cleared, there were fewer people at MY CIQ. However, the moment I got down the staircase. The queue for 170/160 is just near the end of the stair. The queue is just that long. No SBS bus insight. I saw a blue bus (factory bus), immediately I went up got a seat right in front just behind the driver. Slowly after sometime, the bus was full of people standing. Driver kept urging people to come on board initially but many people are unaware. ZOOOOm.. I cross the causeway in no time,,, while many still waiting for 160/170.

So for the blue factory bus, I just pay RM2 upon alighting regardless of which direction?

Thanks for sharing. Good news to me.

I'm wondering about this too, coz I can't imagine if anyone just boards at anytime, in the end no more space for the workers to get on to go home!

I've gone on one once, though not a blue one, and that's coz the driver came round to the end of the super-long queue to offer someone behind me and I turned round to ask if I could board too. Then ... all went chaotic when the rest in the queue heard about it. In the end, someone at the door had to get out coz one of their intended passengers finally turned up. :s13:

I feel priority should be given to their workers or intended passengers, but how do they prioritize?

Yup you can take from CIQ also, just hop onto the bus when you sees people doing that. I always do this when i do no book for train. No time to queue for bus 170 or wadever CW buses :s13:

Not only Blue bus. some coaches also can take by paying Rm2. Just look around you and do a eye contact with the drivers.

Most of the time, I will take public buses. However, when there is long queue then I will take the blue bus. My usual time crossing border isn't really peak hours, so no worry about factory workers not getting on board. In fact, most of the time when I board, very few workers or empty bus (going over to fetch workers back to JB). Driver is waiting for some business as this is extra $$$ income to them and quite a good one too.

So they just don't care. Anyway, its only 5 min ride. Mind you, long ago, I ever took once and I had to shift my seat 3x because each time I sit down, someone told me I was on his/her seat.... ended up sitting at the back row of the bus.

Best Chwee Kueh In JB

I was checking out the blog for something else when I saw this article. Then it's just-for-fun reading and looking out for the address, when I saw the photo.

First glance and I immediately knew where it is! The one coffeeshop that I've yet to patronize! :s13:

Actually for the causeway crossings into JB, i recommend take the CW buses since their frequency is much higher than the other bus services. The blue buses or bas kilang is an option only if not carrying large luggage as space quite tight especially if going through during peak hour.

I once asked a Malaysian who sat beside me on a blue bus when I came back on a Sunday mid afternoon. That day, there was super long queue for buses, can even see people queuing before coming down the stair after clearing custom. Curiously, I ask why no bus and was told, CW buses driver mostly rest on Sunday. They prefer to rest than drive.

I go back mostly after 9pm timing on sundays as CW buses were moving practically non stop around that timing. They have 4+ bus bays on the jb side.
