It's not always bad lah. Sometimes you get friendly Grab drivers, can tcss with them. Sometimes you get locals asking you in Malay where is the nearest iTea in a rural shopping mall, then you tell them sorry can't speak much Malay cos I sinkie Chinese, then end up teasing them 'eh drink too much bbt later potong kaki'. Gotta be street smart to sieve out the bad from the good 😉
I'm not familiar with KL as latest trips over the last decade have just been one-night stopovers. :o

But I'd imagined that it's better for a single lady to take train where there're more people around, then sit through a long car ride with a stranger. Without the present options like requesting to not chat, and the safety feature, some drivers might get bored during a traffic jam and start asking too many questions. And oh, can avoid traffic jam if commute by train too.

But if KL Sentral has become said condition, think better avoid if possible...

PreC19 we bought a couple of pairs Birkenstock while in Melaka. Was cheaper but not very much. You can check the price here before heading there, then look around for sales and compare prices.

Similarly for luggage, bought from Melaka and even while in Genting when we came across and just had to buy. Melaka ones were on sales but we didn't compare/check SG prices. Genting ones we'd a feeling could be more expensive but we just went ahead to buy since good-to-have reason was there.

On the whole, I think branded stuff aren't really very much cheaper in MY but sometimes depends on need/want and of course, sales/discounts.

It's not about money. Peak period all traffic jam, sometimes the drivers just switch off app cos surge pricing + incentive not worth the trip. Imagine 1 hour you stuck inside the jam only earn less than RM30. Not worth it right. Might as well go lepak eat dinner come back later. Sometimes traffic jam so bad driver can take 30mins to reach you leh. Got one period around 2021 - 2022 Feb SST was waived for all car buyer. Everyone down there chiong to buy Proton/Geely because cheap like f**K. This is why nowadays traffic jam sibei jialat cos alot more ppl here got car.

so far my trip to KL is still not too bad

1) I thought grab will be faster than mrt given shown on g maps but turn out due to the bends and traffic jam it's take long and abit more costly, at one of the station there is a breakdown on the track and I have to take the free shuttle.
2) I brought the normal version of tng card, can't top using my tng application, next time have to buy the RFID version, the only way to top up is via TNG QR or via cash at the counter, the machine doesn't accept payment 😔
3) there is klia express to KLIA international airport, I paid for one way trip to KL airport which 55rm and take about 28 minutes, can buy from klook app which just cost 49rm or 89rm for a two way trip, it has like a 30 days validity period. there are other options like easybook bus which is about 10rm from KL sentral or bus interchange, or 65rm grab all the way to KLIA.
4) food place - Alor food street is a must visit, it reminds me of netwon food center but on a much bigger scale and more affordable, I wish I can try more food but my stomach can only fill so much.
5) furuma Bukit Bintang hotel is ok, connected to lalaport shopping center and heng tuah LRT station, the LRT is just a few stops away from KL sentral. I will book the hotel again if I come next time but I will pass over the buffer and dine somewhere nearby.
6) by the way I didn't register for MDAC and enter from JB and take senai airport. I saw the sign at kl airport, it's only for Malaysian passport. note for most of the flight the gate will close 1 hours before boarding time.
7) I may not consider taking shuttle to KL from golden miles next time, the journey itself from start to end is already 9 hour long.

btw I can't seems to top up touch and go via trust card.

Can ask you guys whether it's safe to use Agoda to book Msia Airline flight or use Msia Air website better??
eg. if Agoda is slightly cheaper?

Also, anyone booked with Firefly before?
when using Agoda, i see a same timing flight with MH604 at 09:55 but it's Firefly FY7322. I googled and it seems like it's the same flight.
however, it's selling much cheaper (like $30 difference) than Msia Airline.
Anybody can advise? Is it actually the same flight? Can book anot? ><
Thanks alot!
1st thing to note, always book air ticket directly with the airline not thru 3rd party like Agoda. Why? Flight went wrong, 3rd party will tell you to look for airline and the airline will tell you to look for 3rd party.
So play safe, no 3rd party.
Both Airlines I never take before.
Malaysian Airline I very scare.
Check Firefly got any case or not.

Just like SQ, certain routes you book SQ but manage be SilkAir. So check first, if have any other options.

Thanks for the insight into the situation there...

@Joelleyuan I'd say your best bet would be to Grab all the way then :s22:
Just grab direct to airport, 65 RM +tolls if any. Alternative, grab to KL Sentral train station, take the KLIA express to airport.
Thanks guys for all the info n advice.
My msia fren also suggest grab/taxi from Hotel to KL sentral and take express train to avoid morning jam.

And there's another two female frens leaving on a night flight on Sunday, maybe they grab direct to airport even cheaper and after 8pm i suppose not so jam??
Most convenient and safest is Grab but do take note of the rush hours in KL and book accordingly. KL Sentral bus bay where you take the KLIA coach is quite rundown and may be scary to people who are too used to SG bus interchanges so do take note.

Surge pricing and the chance of getting caught in jams increases during these hours:

Morning work crowd: 6am - 9am
Evening pangkang crowd: 5pm - 8pm

Alternatively you can take KLIA train direct from KL Sentral - https://www.kliaekspres.com/products-fares/klia-transit/
It's cheaper but you have to get to KL Sentral first. Bonus is it's not affected by jams or surge pricing.
