Was considering 65inch for HDB, any advise for viewing distance as recommended from salesman from VivoCity mentioned like 4K can sit closer. It is truth ? I thought OLED, mini or 4K features all same
57 year-old HDB dweller here. No matter how close I put my face against my 65" 4K TV, I can't see individual pixels. Guess this is what lao-hua does to people. 😅 I sit between 1.5m to 2m for gaming and movies, but sits between 1.8m to 3.2m for 16:9 dramas. While viewing distance can be a rather personal thing, 4K does allow viewers to sit closer to get that immersive cinema experience that FHD TV's can't, coz of the pixel size difference. 4K refers to the number of pixels. OLED and miniLED refers to the type of panel.

Before 45 years-old, I could still see every pixel on a 4K 65" TV (actually my 32" FHD monitor). 😎

Brightness can always be adjusted on quality midrange and highend TVs, depending on room illumination.
Can't make a cheapo TV brighter though. LOL
Dark room? Go OLED.
Bright room? Go LED (or flagship OLED).

Too expensive. Nvm think I aim 83 inch first, 97 too expensive for now. Need wait a few years before price will come down
LG 97G2 - also no MLA. It's normal OLED panel.

Right now only 83G4 have MLA panel.
Previously, only upto 77G3 have MLA panel.

I'm confused between 77 / 83 for bedroom. Most probably getting either one of them.

I see. Best is to go biggest possible. This year 77 and 83 panels cheaper

Always compare with the budget brands like Prism or falcon etc and see if a mainstream brand can also meet your needs
You don’t see so many questions on why this doesn’t work or issues in the LG or Samsung chats..

Philips and Prism+ are safer alternatives to budget brands.

Time to ask what is the biggest TV for HDB lift? 8x" has dropped below $2K. 9x"hit $2K in 18mth? But can it fit into yr lift?
In the meanwhile, if you want to stay in the TV market, you must launch a 100" model this year.

If you stay in the newer bto with bigger lifts your 98" or 100" can fit if unboxed.

98" or 100" now cheapest is prism at 4k, i cannot see it dropping to 2k even in 3 to 5 yrs given its demand and supply

So far I have not heard of anyone having difficulties on getting 85 inch tv for their hdb .

Maybe I should setup a company specialising in transporting large TV to residential hdb .

86” ppl say sit 2.5m away is big. My wife say 100” from 2.8m didn’t complain anything. What is the most value for money 75” among the cheapest brands? Can the LG/ Samsung entry fit the TCL, Xiaomi, Hisense?

Hi Everyone

I am considering between TCL C655 75" vs Hisense HS75EK7. Can share the difference between these 2 brands? It seems like Hisense can be controlled by both google home and Home kit but not sure about TCL. Wonder which one will have better pic/ sound quality?
