Shinagawa VS Eagle Eye Centre

Hi!

I have read some posts from a few years back considering between shinagawa vs eagle eye centre (Dr Julian Theng) for lasik. Would like to know if anyone have recent experiences with either doctors.

May i know what are your opinions for people who considered these or those who have tried it at either clinic?

Can't seem to decide which clinic to go for.

Take note that LASIK or ICL is not allowed during Phase 1 of Post Circuit Breaker.

I have friends that went to both clinics for the initial tests before deciding on one clinic.

It really depends on your experience with the clinic and how comfortable you are. It might be expensive to go for both tests but it's your eyes after all. Best to play safe.

Did your friends manage to get their perfect eyesight after EEC with no post recovery problems?

I've read that some who went to EEC had multiple side effects and some didn't get the ideal eyesight/remained with blurry eyesight after years?

I think in general, any surgery bears a certain amount of risks. And it depends on what type of surgery you do. There are 3 different types.

A friend of mine that went to EEC didn't have problems. Another two friends of mine went to Shinagawa also didn't have probs.

One of my friend that went to another clinic, has starburst issue at night and it's pretty bad. Her eyesight did deteriorate but she did mention that probably it's due to the fact that she stares at her screen all the time.

So bear in mind that surgery is not 100% cure if you don't take good care of your eyes.

My suggestion is to go for the test first to find out what surgery you are qualified for first

I also did mine and found out that I can't do LASIK So I ended up opting for ICL.

where did u go? deciding btw snec or eec. but cost is an issue for me tbh.

I was recommended by a gym buddy to see Dr Lynn Yeo for refractive surgery based on his experience with eye doctors. I also checked with my optometrist at Eye Place (who I have seen since 2004), of what she thought of Doctor Lynn Yeo. She also gave her the thumbs up.
I proceeded to book a consult at Eagle Eye Novena office with Dr Lyn Yeo. The team there are a highly efficient unit. The eye assessment comes back instantly and immediately assessed by Dr Lynn Yeo. She gave me the low down and proposed me as a candidate for LASIK or ICL (implantable contact lens). As I wanted to also see another surgeon to double check I decided to ask her for all my results and she happily agreed. My other eye assessment was with a famous celebrity Ophthalmologist. He also made the same conclusion that I could do either ICL or LASIK.
Results for the eye degree tests between the two companies were a little different. During my discussion with both companies, it was clear that Eagle Eye was more professional (thanks Ivan Tan for your patience with discussing results to determine the final outcomes for the eye). Mind you if I had gone with the other company, results may be the same, but they just didn’t have the time or patience explaining. I decided to go with Eagle Eye and I promptly paid deposit and waited for the ICL Lens which came within four days.
The surgery experience was a breeze in the park. In fact, the hardest part of the surgery is trying to get to sleep the night before, as one ponders worst case scenarios. With Dr Lynn Yeo’s cool and two experienced nurses, the real operation literally took like 2 mins and painless. You just look up and in goes the lens. Most of the time was spent cleaning and taping eye lids down. Highly commend Dr Lynn Yeo and her Eagle Eye team . Also if you were like me who spent a lot of time researching medical publications and consulted with three ophthalmologists to review LASIK vs ICL, defiantly go down the ICL option. No downtime, no dry eyes, no halos… reversible if need be… what more do you want.
BTW the other bro who said that cost is an issue. Please do consider the type of machine being used. They are not all the same. Some may use older machane and hence get halos. Hence why i reckon ICL is better to save up for.

So my best guess is 10k for 1 pair of eyes? Ig do at SNEC would be around 7k? Have a scar on my pupil b4, so my previous eye check the doctor recommend i do not take any lasering on the eyes. Just to prevent any unforeseen circumstances.

But he say i go for ICL. Just wanna hear the prices out b4 i continue to venture for more eye checks. First eye check with the eyedrop make my eyes blur the whole day, damn awkward x.x

Ask your surgeon the pros and cons of ICL, from what I know, there's a risk of early cataract for ICL. Also in the future when you are going for cataract surgery, you have to go for additional procedure 1st to take out the lens, before the doctor can do cataract surgery on you.

But yeah, best to check with your surgeon.
