Did TransPRK. This is my journey so far:

Day 1: Scratchy and watery eyes. Kept tearing as though someone was cutting onions. Instilled my eyedrops and went to rest while listening to podcasts.

Day 2: Pain greatly reduced. Vision is blurry and extremely sensitive to light.

Day 3: Went back to the clinic for first review. The optometrist says my exterior skin is 60% healed. Recovering well.

Day 4-6: Not much difference in vision, still blurry. Eyes are dry sometimes and I am starting to feel uncomfortable with the bandage lens. Still following the medication regime.

Day 7: went back to the clinic for bandage lens removal. Vision still blur with no improvement. Eyes still dry.

Day 8: felt uncomfortable with the dry eyes. Went back to see the doc and he assured everything is fine although he observed there is some dryness for the eye. Told me to increase the dosage for Cationorm.

Day 9-10: Continued to instill eyedrops regularly per schedule. Vision started to fluctuate with clearer vision before regressing back to blurry vision.

Day 11: Vision continues to fluctuate. Observed some improvement in the average clarity.

Will continue to update as it goes..
Hey guys, just wanna update y'all on my progress. It has been 2 months and 3 weeks, and my visual acuity is 95% alr. I think my recovery is quite slow but don't worry if your vision is not satisfactory even at the 2 month mark. The healing process isn't linear in my experience.

Done my Femtolasik @ EEC with Dr Julian Theng. On my 6months mark now.

Feel free to pm me any questions if you want or in need of referral :D
Hi, I booked an appointment for lasik at EEC, are you or anyone who did Lasik there able to share the referral code? Thank you! 😊

Just did an eye assessment at EEC today, and though I am suitable for LASIK, Dr Lynn Yeo recommended that ICL would be better for me, especially since I have high myopia and I am quite concerned with the side effects of LASIK (dry eyes, no please).

Silly question, but for those who did ICL, how do you supposedly wash your face/eyes in the morning after the surgery?

Pmed!

Good luck! :)

I think the referral code only works on the same doctor but can give it a try.
Mine is under Dr Julian Theng.

Am considering ICL @ EEC too, any referrals please PM, thanks!

Just to confirm and summarize what I've gathered here so far (for others also considering the same):
- The timeline for ICL requires 2 visits minimally. After the 1st visit, if assessed to be suitable, 2nd visit is basically the op.
- With about 1-2 weeks in between both visits for them to order the customized lenses.
- Dr Lynn Yeo seems to be the go-to for ICL at EEC

To kickstart the process, just make the first appt via their website?

Yeps, so basically here are the steps:

1. Make an appointment via the website and someone will reach out to you to confirm.

2. Go for the eye assessment to ascertain that you are fit for ICL (it took me about 3 hours in total).

3. Book an appointment directly with EEC for a pre-op assessment to determine the lens that best fit you. The pre-op assessment will be done at Royal Square @ Novena.

4. EEC will order the ICL lens from Switzerland, based on the pre-op assessment (takes about 3 business days).

5. Surgery time! Once the lens arrive, you are good for the surgery.

Thanks! That's super helpful. Ok, looks like 3 sessions at least.

How long is super long.

Anyone can do implantable contact lenses ICL or only certain people?
Not everyone can do ICL. I was assessed and found not to be suitable for ICL because the space inside my eyes (can't remember where) is not sufficient.

I've heard from an eye doctor that I will not be suitable for multifocal lens when I go for cataract surgery next time if I were to do lasik (not ICL) now. I am not sure if this is due to my degree/astig. Has anyone heard the same thing?

Just did my ICL surgery with Dr Lynn Yeo yesterday. The surgery was smooth, done in 20 mins or so. The surgery is painless, you will feel just a little bit of pressure on The Eyes that’s all. During the surgery, you would have to stare at 3 bright lights which is very uncomfortable.
Dr Lynn and her team are bunch of pros, I guess it’s because they have done numerous ICL surgeries before. Even the patient before me was there for ICL

But I am seeing halos around bright lights. Going for my 1st post ops review with her later, going to check if the halos might go away after sometime. Feels so great that I do not need to reach out for my specs first thing in the morning!

Thanks, good to hear another ICL experience (y) From your first appt to your op date, how long was it?
Also, are you able to share on what's the referral system like at EEC? If you have a referral you can share for Dr Yeo/ICL, could I trouble you to PM me? I've been trying to find out from a few other posters, but no replies yet :(

Had my first spot with her and did my surgery 2 weeks later. Could have done it a week after seeing her if not for my work schedule. Not so sure about referral system but my friends who did their lasik and ICL under Julian Theng was informed that they could get $300 if you mention the friend’s name. It differs from doc to doc

Wow. That's quick. Good to know.

Ah that really helps. I didn't realize it was a doc-specific thing, had the impression that it was an ECC thing. Ok, maybe that's why I'm getting no response re: Dr Yeo lol. Will get on without it. Thanks!

Yeah, she’s quick compared to Julian. When I called to ask to see Julian in March, the earliest possible date is in July! The customer service then recommended me to see Dr Lynn. Upon research, realised that she was the first doctor, along with Dr Lee Hung Ming to do the first ICL surgery in Singapore back in 2005. Since then, she has done multiple ICL surgeries. You can see from her Instagram page, she is actively promoting ICL over LASIK. LASIK is more popular than ICL because it’s cheaper and I feel there’s an lot more marketing done on LASIK over ICL.

Basically if your vision can be corrected well with glasses, ICL should give good result. Got additional test on some cell count, probably to assess how well you will heal from the cut.

Sorry late reply, saw your other message also, no issues for me since surgery, perfect, no dry eyes also.

EDIT: been about 6 weeks since surgery.

I just close my eyes and ensure I dab dry before opening my eyes
