Generally I prefer private clinics or hospitals.

Mine was at Shinagawa, while a close friend of mine went to Mount Alvernia.

Shinagawa good? My friend's sibling went there too. Saw the price 3.8k for both eyes..

Edit: Wanna know how good it is also. After lasik really perfect eye sight? Mine now is 500 plus for both eyes. After a couple of years also the same. As in definitely have to take care our eyes after all tho.

I have only went 1 lasik, but I feel Shinagawa is good, if people around you have gone there and no complaints then it should be a safe choice. About the price, mine was done years ago and probably the older technology. Yeah, it is on the high side, but most private clinics generally charge around that price for the same/similar method. I wouldn't want to go for a cheaper option and later get poor service or more complications.

They did say a small degree might resurface, probably like <50. My initial degree was more than yours. Yes you are right to wait for your degree to stabilize before going for lasik.

I was a little scared, but Dr Lee was comforting, the cutting of the flap was probably like brushing over your eye? The lasik cutting of the cornea looked like fireworks.

Hi, wana laser my eyes. Just read abt epi-lasik today. My power is 150 each side, is it too low? I hate wearing specs.

If your power is just 150 on each side, go for LASIK and you will get very good results. epiLASIK is actually PRK, recovery is much longer and also there is a risk of scarring. The other difference with epiLASIK/PRK is that there is no flap, which may be safer for those that do very rough contact sports. For all other people, LASIK is better in my opinion.

when I did mine, epiLasik not even out yet, the blade-less technology was the latest thing. No choice got to cut the flap no matter what.

There is 2 parts to the surgery, one is to cut open a flap and the other is to laser shape your eyeball lens. then they will close back the flap and let the would heal, sorry I am not too good with the terms and mine could be backdated.

Thanks for the reply. Wow but i hv been reading a lot abit epi Lasik saying it is better than lasik. Didn't know that it is suited for different kind of candidates as i tot in general it is a better technology. What is PRK?

Just went for assessment today at Shinagawa and doc recommended the Amaris laser. He said 2 times faster and more accurate than the other one. My degree is 100 at right eye and 150 on left eye.

I have not reached that old age yet so I cannot tell you. As of now I have reaped the benefits of it for 5 years(?) already.

Initially it might make your eyes drier due to the numbing drops on the eye, but after a while it should be back to normal.

Amaris is their latest machine and it has the eye tracker function which improves accuracy. There is a chance of regression , meaning your degree will come back again but this will be limited to 15% of your original degree power.
