Lasik eye Surgery

bro, i really can't remember. that was my impression when i was looking around at the prices of different clinics late last year.

you can call them to check out the prices, which was what i did.

a point to note is that EEC has different machine at different branches, with the novena branch having the better machine ie. 750, which most clinics are using it.

Clearvision should be the only , using the new and faster 1050. but that was last year when i was looking at the "prices".

there are really too many factors to look around, cheaper prices of surgery, expensive follow up consultation, complication post surgery, different enhancement fees and period (with some giving 2 years, while other give 3 years) and reliability of doctors.

with eyes being the most or one of the important organ, i really don't want to take any chances. hence, i'm considering only PRK, the flapless procedure. lasik, with the corneal flap created, will never be able to heal.

mind sharing how much is the no touch epi lasik with Eagle Eye?

Did mine at eagle eye about 5-6 years ago. Degree was about 600 plus for both eyes and had high astig. Operation went smoothly and have no problems till date.

My selection was pretty straight forward.

I wasn't keen of having flap in my corneal, so normal lasik are out. Relex smile is over my budget, also not keen of having 'pocket' in the cornea.

So i am left with epi-lasik, lasek (and all other advanced surface ablation surgery). In the end i went for no-touch epi-lasik cos it has 0 risk of doc applying too much force and damage the cornea (other than he key in wrong value la).

Maybe you might want to consider epi-lasik too, cos your 900 degrees probably already ruled out relex smile, and approaching the limit of normal lasik (hence likely have more complications like dry eyes etc).

Seem like EEC is popular over here. May I know what is the cost of the eye assessment? which doctor is better? Their website never put the fee, so how much is their lasik?

Just came back from eye assessment from LSC. Doctor recommended me Lasik Bladeless Standard at $3198 + Lasik Xtra at $1284 + Medication at $85.6 = $4566.76 including GST. After discount of $250 go down to $4300.

No other option for me as doctor said my myopia at 900 degree each is too high and no guarantee the myopia will not come back and come back at most 50-100 degree each eye after 5 to 7 years.

I think I paid about 3k ++ after my friend's referral code. The rate is not public - the doctor decides. I shopped around a lot and felt their charges were very reasonable. Eye assessment is waived if you decide to proceed with lasik.

i'm contemplating the Relex Smile surgery, any reasons why ppl still opting for Lasik other than price-wise? Anything dangerous about the Relex Smile that i should know of?

i did mine at clearvision.
After $120 referral discount which i quoted some blog,
The op cost about $3500.
after 1st mth, 2 follow up, each cost me $53.5
(i didnt go for the final follow up which i find it pointless)
2x medication eye drops + 2 boxes of eyes lubricant i think cost me about $80+

so total i paid about $3500 + $53.5 x 2 + $80+ = almost $3700

Many people got dry eyes after doing relex smile or lasik. Ie you cannot see clearly in front of computer.

Many have dry eyes forever. Ie need to apply eye drops every 30mins - 1hr. Else cant see properly. Thats something the docs wont tell you.

Did my surgery with Dr. Lee at Shinagawa. 3 months so far and perfect vision. Halos and starbursts getting lesser and night vision getting better. Got slight dryness in the eyes but putting eyedrops is a small price to pay and the dryness will recede after a while anyway.

Sorry, no experience yet.

Even if i have done lasik, no people who get old yet. A numbers of my friends went through it, at least they are feeling very great now without contact lens or spec.

done it 10 years ago. no regrets.
