lao hua is not a side effect of lasik.. its just due aging.

Shinagawa Dr Lee SB
Glen eagles Dr Lee HM (might be a little more expensive)
Dr Por YM

heard these 3 quite good..

My lasik story is almost exactly the same as you. I went to atlas and shinagawa. Dr Chan from atlas gave me the green light for both lasik and smile. Dr Lee from shinagawa told me almost the same thing as you + my high degree etc and told me to put eyedrops as well and come back 2 weeks later but ended up rejecting me for lasik.

I chose not to do lasik for the time being.

Think is correct to listen to your heart, these are your eyes. Nothing u can do to undo what's done. Some docs quickly grew so impatient when asked lots of questions:(

No. Because my left eye was 100 and my right eye was 175 and 25 degrees of “lao hua”.

Like I said earlier, severiness of myopia is not the only factor to determine if one is suitable for lasik.

Went for my second opinion evaluation today and now I'm in a dilemma. I'm basically cleared for all procedures but it came down to which procedure to do. During the first evaluation, the doctor recommended me for SMILE as it heals faster and no flap but I told him I was more keen on ASA which he presented all the info for me to weigh the options. At my second evaluation at another clinic today, the doctor recommended Lasik and told me for ASA I have a higher chance of getting corneal haze due to higher degree and won't o ASA for me.

I'm about close to about 700 degrees for myopia. I have read that higher myopia has a higher chance of corneal haze for ASA. But it heals with along time with the eye. It is able to heal completely?

Anyone with about my degree did ASA before? Any issues with haze or other complications? Thinking of going Clear Vision for another evaluation.

Correction.

I recently did the Intralase Method Lasik aka Wavefront standard bladeless lasik instead of Epi-Lasik and it has become my greatest regret for life.

The surgery went smooth, but now i have severe eye dryness accompanied with weak corneal which i never had prior to Lasik. And these are just top of the ice-berg.

After paying for the Lasik, be it Epi-Lasik or Bladeless Lasik. You will have to spent an additional 2k sgd for the eye drops.

This is not an optional purchase but a must due to the guaranteed side effect of dry eyes. The eye drops can't be purchase at supermarket or retail outlet as it has to be preservative free.

How do i derive this amount of 2 thousand.
1 box of eye drops at 17 dollars.
1 week u will used up 4 boxes.
The dry eyes will persist based on individual, not 3-6 months as claimed by the internet.

For those who are opting for the Intralase Method, please do rest for half an hour at the resting area before going home. I went to the toilet right immediately after the surgery and my corneal flap dislodged.

Please go for a more thorough eye check up before doing Lasik. I have dry eyes prior to lasik but it was not tested during the eye assessment and now i will have to live with severe eye dryness. You can do your eye check up at NUS, NTU and polytechnic eye clinic for a cheaper rate.

Thank you and welcome

Hi, people who are considering or going to do Lasik.

Hope you do take a look at this.

After 9 months since my Lasik with Dr Lee at Shinagawa Eye Centre.

I would like to share and correct myself by saying that i am better off by doing Lasik, but if given a chance again, i would prefer ASA-Lasek.

In regards to the eye drops total costs. It will cost you $2000 as what i quoted in the past only if you used it frivolously.

Anyway, please do your due dillgence in choosing a right clinic and doctor as you can't afford to risk your vision or worst go blind. (Google LSC Dr Marc Tay twice separate botched Lasik Lawsuit)

At Shinagawa Eye Centre, you would be given this specific eye drop called OptiClear UD. Given that it is costly, i managed to find a substitute of the same special ingredient "0.20% Hyaluric Acid (HA)", called (blink intensive tears) which is retailing at Watsons and Guardian.

Please do schedule your appointment with Shinagawa Eye Centre in the afternoon if you have difficulty waking up in the morning. Your eyes have to be well-rested and fresh when you are going for your lasik.

And if you have oily skin, wash your eye lids with eye wash product or the cheaper alternative will be baby body wash with clean towel/tissue. Keep this up for at least 2 weeks, this will help to unclog meibomian glands. After lasik, you can't wash or shower for 1 week so better to start off with a clean eyes

My vision is 20/20 as of current and dry eyes has become slightly better, i am actually accustomed to taking eye breaks when my eyes starts to sting .

Eyes is more sensitive/dry towards strong wind, can't wind down the window for long when driving anymore.

Starburst and halo still persists but getting better, i figured i have gotten used to it.

Do avoid haze and anything smoky for at least 1 month after your Lasik as it will sting and dry your eyes out. Learnt my lesson after i went to a bar 2 weeks into my recovery.

Please ignore my previous posting where i mentioned "go for a more thorough eye check at NUS, NTU and Polytechnic". SNEC and private eye clinic is better equipped and have the necessary expertise to look into your needs. Seek more evaluation if you are unsure, i am certain the benefit outweigh the costs in the long run

I hope what i have shared is helpful to you and if you need any further information please feel free to ask. Do pardon my grammar and spelling mistakes.

Hi, hisugaya, you should consult your doctor in regards to corneal haze. SMILE is a relatively new technology, i would strongly recommend you to go for ASA. Go for more evaluation and seek the doctor opinion, you have to feel comfortable with your decisions.

I just got rejected by Dr Lee at Shinagawa for lasik due to my high myopia (around 800 for both eyes), high astigmatism (around 200 for both eyes), slightly below average corneal thickness at around 525 and steeper corneal curvature (higher risk for ectasia if I rmb correctly). :(

He also calculated my remaining corneal thickness after lasik to be 279 and his minimal is 280. I read online that the general minimal thickness is 250 but Dr Lee kept emphasising that he is a very conservative doctor so I guess I should just trust my doctor and accept the fate that I am not suitable for lasik :( Very sad and disappointed but I still highly recommend Dr Lee from Shinagawa as I can feel that he really cares about his patient instead of just wanting to earn money from the lasik surgery.

Woah my myopia also ard 800 for both eyes. Means cannot do Lasik? :s22:

Hi,

I am going for lasik assessment at eec with Dr Julian theng soon and am thinking of doing the intralase bladeless option.

Just wondering if there is any referral fees and how much are they?
Also, how many days of medical leave will i get?

I asked the receptionist but she declined to tell me the referral fees amount and that 2days of medical leave is given.
