Hi guys, would like to ask some questions about LASIK.

1.) I am myopic (about -300 for both eyes) and I do have astig of about -200 and -250 for my eyes. Which subtype of refraction surgery would be highly recommended?

2.) I feel like I am unable to get used to specs after wearing them for 20+ years for some reason. Weighing the pros and cons, is LASIK or its kind worth it?

3.) Hows the general procedure from start to finish? What sort of pre-tests will be done before being qualified for the surgery?

4.) Which are the best places to go and get it done?

Thanks!

- i did lasik and it is ok. i did lasik at national eye centre of singapore. they will do some eye sight tests on you. when the doctor cut open your eyes, there will be some pain. there is no pain when the laser is doing the work, but there will be some kind of burning smell.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Did you mean SNEC as the location?

1) Would recommend Epi Lasik. The all in one laser. It will cut about 70 microns of your cornea (in your case) as compare to Lasik which will cut additional 100+ just for the flap.

2) It is worth it. However, go for check ups first, maybe go 3 or 4 clinics and see which one you prefer. I did mine at Clear Vision, happy with the results. I used to have about 700 degrees combined per eye.

3) It's all on the websites. To sum up, they test for suitability and risks base on your current eyes condition. Again, go for check up to know more about your eyes. I think more important questions to ask is post surgery e.g. rest, food, avoid sun, wear sunglasses...

4) Atlas - pushes for Relex
Shinigawa - Lasik or Epi Lasik, in your case the Doc might suggest Lasik
Clear Vision - Epi Lasik. Of cos I'll recommend this. Cos I did it there already.

This is not a must type of thing so don't rush into doing it. Research and go for check ups.

Those promo code whatever can find online easily.

Thanks bro. The checkups I guess have to pay?

I’m kind of swaying to SNEC. Do you think doing it there is better than private clinics? Or vice versa? Thanks.

Hi, just checking how long does the recovery takes? For working personnel, what’s the minimum days of leaves required?

Yea, but it's quite cheap for some clinics. I would prefer private cos I feel they more specialized and more experiences but that just personal opinion.

Lasik fastest, like a few days. Epi Lasik depends maybe a week but vision won't be stable until maybe a month or two.

Is it a must to stop wearing contact lenses for pre lasik evaluation? Any advice? Share your experience

Hard lens wearers will be more affected by it.
soft lens wearers not so, but best to wear glasses for few days before the assessment

I had previously asked for referral code for Shinagawa, however did not receive any pm so far. So I wish to try again. Can someone please share the code for Shinagawa? Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Hope to do next month in June.
