Care to share why you are opting for Dr Lim Wee Kiak instead of Dr Julian Theng?

I've worked his events as a freelance photographer while he was an MP, quite like the dude I guess. My friend went with Dr Julian when she did her lasik 2 months ago, no complaints from her but judging by how popular he is I think might be harder to get a slot with him.

Yes Julian slots are packed for couple of months one. But I was lucky, when I called in back then, they have a slot just a week later that someone cancelled. So managed to get that slot and he won't be avail for the next 2mths.

Anyone can share how much Lasik costs at eagle eye inclusive of follow up and medication? Shinagawa is 3.9k for surgery + first week medication, another ~$300 for follow up. This is after the $300 discount from using GrabPay/cash so 4.2k total for intralase. Was wondering if this is on the high side?

Do you still have to wear sunglasses at night while indoor or when you head out?
Are you able to perform your outdoor activities with sunglasses on?
I have read thru pretty much of this thread, not much was commented on their night vision. The usual comments are that they slept thru the first few days...

i did transprk ard 1 mth ago.. first 3 days really sleep 80% of time as super sensitive to light. can only open eye fully on the 5th day if im not wrong.

for night vision didnt really notice any significant difference comparing to before surgery so guess didnt affect much on me..

on a side note even though 1 mth have passed my vision still blurry at time is it normal? and almost all of the time when standing ard 20m looking at clock covering each eye, right eye is much clearer most of the time very afraid that left eye is under corrected..

Hi! I did my TransPRK slightly more than 3 weeks ago.

My experience was slightly different compared to icywinterz.

In fact, I couldn’t sleep the first day. My eyes hurt quite a bit after the procedure, and I had to take the painkillers. Sleeping was quite difficult the next 3 or 4 days, as I kept having a sensitive feeling whenever I laid on my back facing up. I asked the nurse on my follow up appointment regarding this, but she mentioned that I’m the first ever case who experienced this. From my understanding, most people do sleep through the first few days quite well.

The pain went away a little after I took the painkillers and it never came back, except for some sharp stabbing pain now and then, which went away on Day 3. However, I could already open my eyes quite well on Day 2 even without sunglasses.

My visual recovery timeline roughly goes like this:

Day 1: 50% vision right after op
Day 2 - 6: 60 - 80% vision, which improved gradually
Day 7: My vision was basically 90% clear, but it was also my bandage lens removal day, and it went back to 65% post removal.
Day 8-10: Slowly improved to about 85%
Day 10 - 14: Pretty much stayed about the same at 85%

Weird thing was my vision was quite blurry throughout days 8 - 14, but it becomes extremely clear for about a minute or so after instilling the eye drops.

Day 15 onwards my vision is pretty comparable to when I was wearing contact lenses/spectacles. Almost 95% I would say?

But throughout, like what icywinterz mentioned, my right eye definitely feels clearer when I compare them both by covering each eye. Hopefully it’s not undercorrected as well. Although it’s still very much functional.

Night vision, however, isn’t too fantastic. I am still getting halos and glares, although it has definitely improved quite a lot compared to the first 2 weeks. Will see if it continues to get better. Although vision is still mostly functional at night, not complaining for now and hoping for the best.

As for sunglasses, I was told that there’s no need to wear it at night or when I’m indoors even when next to glass windows. I still wear them out whenever there’s sunlight, even though its in the evening. I only remove them when it’s completely dark. I wear it during cloudy or rainy days as well!

need help/advice. for those that did CXL, what made you decide to go ahead? my doctor didn’t say i must but told me to think about it. is it necessary and why?

my degree is -6.00 / -0.50 (right) and -5.50 / -2.00 (left). corneal thickness is 539 and 530 respectively. thank you!

If im not wrong. Its more on the shape of your eyeball to determine if you need CXL or not. Mine was borderline case. The Dr say if its below the reading he definitely will ask me to get CXL done. But mine is just at the cut off point so he say its up to me. It will prevent future problems on some issues which i cant remember what. But since its for the better, might as well do together

What is your degree? Laser 1 dioper is about 14 microns. The flap that lasik do is about 140 micros. So if your degree is 100 myopia, 140 + 14 microns = 154 microns taken away.

If you do epi lasik you dont have to care about the flap, just the per dioper taken away. But comes at slight longer healing time.

All comes down to your needs and whether you can afford to do the down time. I did mine at Clearvision w/o crosslinking with about 550 microns and about 700 degrees with myopia and astig.

I’m leaning a little towards epi lasik because of the flap. My degrees is similar to yours, corneal thickness at 530-539. How long did it take you to recover and go back to work and back to exercise?

Did my lasik with cross linking 4 months ago with EEC and have absolutely no regrets.

I was still afraid the week before as I was reading review and comments etc on their facebook page and this thread. But decided to bite the bullet and just go on with it.

Gave a referral and got some discount which is better than nothing!

cos its all laser, contactless, less complication and less dry eye chances and most impt not so scary compare to have suction ring on your eyes.

as far as i can remember and according to my specs:
left 250
right 275+50astig

before the surgery they informed my right eye is 275+50 astig (exactly same) but my left eye they saying only 175, i say should be 250 they say they will double check and they say they confirm to be 175.. thats y i very scared may be under correct.. dunno is it my left eye degree changes.

anyone have any idea how the machine work? izzi auto pilot correction to perfect vision regardless of the degree or something like manual correction eg. need to key in the patient degree to the machine?

Thanks! Mine is 600-700 with 200+ astig. I called Dr Natasha Lim’s clinic and was quoted around $7000 for both eyes. How was your experience with her and do you have a referral code pls?

Was also wondering the difference in treatment offered by SNEC vs private clinics for ICL. SNEC is general anaesthesia and operating on one eye at a time while private is local anaesthesia and both eyes can be done together. Also the significant price difference. Appreciate if anyone could shed light on this.

Good doctor, don’t need glasses after ICL surgery. Why need general anaesthesis ? Dr Natasha just use topical anaesthesis for ICL, both eyes finish in 30 minutes. Next day can see clear liao.

Just did my transprk with Clearvision 4 days ago! Had a hard time deciding between shinagawa and Clearvision but ultimately chose Clearvision cos I didn’t want to do the flap technique and I was recommended to do cross linking for both eyes with shinagawa.

Apparently I was told clear vision only does transprk now. That was what the staff told me during the assessment.
