From reading your old messages, you mentioned that you did Monovision lasik with Dr Lynn Yeo as recommended by her.

I would like to know by how many degrees did she under-correct your nearsighted eye to help with reading?

Did you feel any visual imbalance or discomfort due to the power difference between both eyes? Thank you

Hi there, my left eye was under corrected by 50 degrees. It took a while to get used to it. When I look at things that are near like my iPad, my undercorrected eye becomes the dominant eye. After a while when I look up things will become slightly unclear but becomes clear again after a while because when looking far, The Eye with the perfect eyesight becomes the dominant eye. The advantage of mono vision is that my near sightness will be delayed and I probably don’t near Lao Hua glasses till i am into my 50s or might not even need it at all. However my circumstances could be different as I have a permanent scar right in the middle of my left cornea (uncorrected eye). And this is the reason why I went for ICL. In summary, live is normal and better than pre operation. I can drive, I can read, I can do sports without any hassles. Swimming and running with specs is such a fantastic feeling!

I just went to SNEC for suitability assessment for lasik. A bit taken aback as the results were not optimal and little risk that cornea may be weakened by lasik and may protrude out over time, affecting eyesight. Dr Rosman discussed alternatives on ICL too and of course the side effects of early cataract and glaucoma which sounded all scary too. Does anyone know if SNEC has a more Conservative approach for clearance compared to private clinics? The cost seemed very high at 15k. Is SNEC using visian lens for ICL? I'm considering going for 2nd opinion at Dr Cheryl Lim or EEE. Any referral code will be much appreciated!!

Just did my transprk with corneal cross linking last evening. First few hours were uncomfortable but it got a lot better after that. On the way for my appointment now. Better than I expected tbh. (my prescription is about -600 with 200 astigmatism)

It was about a week for my wife as luckily there was a slot that opened up. For me I have to wait about 3 weeks. I suggest going for evaluation earlier as you would have more choices for surgery dates. For now, the next surgery is probably early Jan 2022.

Hi how was it for your wife so far ? I’m considering Transprk too but not sure if it’s practical (downtime of up to 4 weeks?)with young children to care for :/

She is okay and close to 90% by her estimation after 1-2 weeks. We don't have kids but it was fine for her to look after our pets (cat, hamsters, fish, turtles). The only limitation honestly for the first couple of days was PC work and watching TV.

It was good. Do bear in mind that we had to do corneal cross linking as our prescription is higher. So that affects recovery as well. Sure I'll pm you.

Day 5 after Trans PRK and there was noticeable improvement from Day 4! Could focus and use my phone a lot better and eyes are less sensitive to light. Can't wait to take out my bandage contact lens tomorrow!

Yup iirc just inform them when booking appt also ok so they can take note.

Sorry i only went ahead with 1 so i can't say much for the rest but i think price wise, more or less same standard market rate least the referral discount.

For those looking to do LASIK at EEC. Dr Julian has the most experience in doing LASIK. That doesnt mean other doctors are lacking... His price can be quite competitive if you are referred by people he knows. (Think of it as a friend referral, he normally will pay more attention and give a 'relationship price'. They try not to deviate too much in terms of the price they charge. LASIK is a pretty straight forward procedure afterall.
