I’ve been following this thread for quite a while. Many prefer laser corrections over ICL due to costs and permanent effects. If I am not wrong, there are more criteria to meet for ICL.

Try not to do lasik. I did... more than 15yrs ago, now having dry eyes and ended up wearing glasses!

Is it because of Lao hua?

Just removed my bandage lens at Clear Vision today.
Recovery is on track and I just need to be diligent with the eyedrops regime. No wonder everyone said that one would become a pro at instilling eyedrops after the surgery!
Dr Huang is very reassuring and would always answer my questions patiently. A great experience with this clinic thus far.
Next review will be in 2 weeks' time. Can't wait!

Pre-assessment should be almost the same at every clinic. They will check your prescription degree, cornea thickness, cornea curvature, eye pressure etc and dilation of pupils. Based on your tests' results, the doctor will advise whether you are a suitable candidate for laser vision correction and the most suitable / recommended surgery method for you.

In my opinion, Transprk is the least invasive method as there are no cuts or incision made. It is painless during the surgery as numbing eye drops will be instilled. There will be discomfort and tearing sensation after the numbing eyedrops wear off.
Recovery time is indeed longer as the tearing sensation and sensitivity to light lasted about 3-4 days for me.

How long is the surgery?

Perhaps you can arrange to do your surgery close to a public holiday, so you won't need to take so many days of leave.

The surgery time (staring at the green fixation light without blinking and moving - the doctor will use a device to hold the eyelid open) takes around 30-40 seconds for each eye including inserting of bandage lens.
If cross-linking is needed to strengthen the corneas, then extra time of about 3 mins is required for each eye. The time spent in surgery room is estimated 15-20 minutes, however, the total time in the clinic varies.
On surgery day, the clinic staff will need to run some quick eye scans (similar to those done during the assessment), do the eyedrops allergy tests on you as well as conduct a mass briefing for all patients on post surgery care and eyedrops regime. The wait time depends on the number of patients doing surgery on that same day.

My vision for the first 3 days was blurred due to the tearing sensation and sensitivity to light. I just wanted to close my eyes and rest for most of the time.

Yes the first couple of days to a week will be blurry but your experience may vary depending on your prescription and if you did cross-linking as well. Its been almost 5 months for me and i can't imagine a world where i didn't do it. (mine was -6.25 and -2.50 Astig so pretty high and had to do cross linking as well. My wife was -12.5 and -150 Astig (no typo) and she has almost perfect eyesight.)
