Seagate HDD OEM by Sun, bought from Ingram

hi all

this thread is really useful! but to be frank i too lazy to go through all the pages so here goes:

i helping my co RMA a Seagate HDD OEM by Sun Microsystems and bought from Ingram Micro. Any idea who to RMA to? (Seagate should be out as I went to the RMA website and it couldn't locate the HDD S/N no)

think have to go through ingram micro then. but they take a long long time. some of my seagates go through them takes more than 3 mths to come back.

I RMA-ed my WD drive at 5pm and when I check the RMA status at 2am, a replacement drive has been shipped to my place!

Most amazing thing is that the replacement drive is an upgrade from the one I RMA-ed.

yeah, if EOL or out of stock, you might get an "upgrade"

If you prefer to hand it over personally, you can hand it to the UPS SCSaddress in the RMA notification. I'd recommend calling them beforehand so that they know when to expect you.

Alternatively you can hand the hard drive over to Singpost Post Centre HQ.Please bring along a printout of the RMA notification email otherwise they will not accept the hard drive.

Do not need to enter the premise. I parked my car at the side and just handover my drive after writing down my particulars on a book. You need to print the generated RMA form though.

Sorry forgot to ask one important question...do I still need to package it as per Hitachi requirement? Or I can simply hand over a bare HDD, or in an envelop?

there is a limit to the numbers of HDD u can send back per time

I printed out the RMA form for my WD drive and the address printed on it is chai chee. Can I still send it to achieva? Will they accept it with this chai chee printout?

I RMAed my DOA WD20EARS at chai chee which is walking distance away and received it on another day.

Luckily I brought the whole RMA printout with me. I thought the RMA label would be suffice

U can drop it at Funan #03-K1 Trans Mobile,its an authorized Seagate/Maxtor Drop Centre which will send your HDD for rma after filling up a form
