dimitri>> Waa! 速い!

1)このことは彼女に知られたら、誰にでも話してしまうから、気をつけてください。
But this sentence says darenidemo...Can?

4)Oh sorry I meant 「だい」 「かい」as in
何を見ているんだい?
食べないのかい?
How to differentiate when to use them? (other than it sounding funny.)

彼女はよく人にいい話をします。
Ans:彼女はうまいです。
My teacher couldn't really explain the first sentence but her explanation of the 2nd sentence makes it clear. She said umai here means skilful. Here it means 口がうまい(eloquent)。

彼女はよく人にいい話をします - frankly i have never heard of this way of saying it before. but if i were to relate ur 1st and 2nd sentence i will understand that together, they mean 彼女はうまく話せます. not sure if ur explanation is unclear or what but based on second sentence alone ur teacher cannot conclude that she is eloquent - it only means she's pro/good but not at wat

for question 4 im not sure if its my knowledge limitation but i have never heard of sentences ending with a い other than when using plain form adjectives. is this an actual question from some textbook or something like that?

lastly, no such thing as 誰にでも.

Niao-san>> Eh no, she didn't base it on the 2nd sentence only. She understood fully the first sentence (so this sentence exists) but didn't know how to express it. If I were to say "She smooth-talks people" also sounds strange because its a little negative. Ya, got things such as dai and kai. Got hear before, quite often actually. Dunno how to use only.

More qns....
5)私のように日本で留学生活を送っている人が大勢います。自分の国は色々違うところがるので、時々寂しくなったり、また迷ったりすることがあるのもしかたがあります
okutteiru?? Isn't okuru give? What does the moshikata here means?。

6)カラオケは日本人によって考え出された遊び道具である。
Why use de here? (de aru)

Question sentences ending with dai and kai I've definitely heard it before. It's not part of standard Japanese, more like slang I guess? but I'm not sure who typically uses it.

I guess it's something like how some ojichan will use jyano at the end of the sentence rather than darou.

EDIT: On second thought, I remembered how Japanese normally use the two words. For example:
they will go いいかい? or いいのかい? but you can't use it for だい
だい is used this way: なんだい? (here it means なに?not なんだ。)
but you can't say いいだい or なんかい
So I figure it's just a matter of adding the い to the end of the sentence where appropriate.
You go 何だい nanda(i) and 良いのかい ii no ka(i)

「誰でもに」じゃない?

I cannot get what u wanna say...

Q2)いくら勉強してもすぐ忘れてしまう。私はもう年だ。
この分の「年」は何いう意味?ねんかとし?

->should use 年寄り instead of 年

There's nothing wrong with the expression 誰にでも. 誰でもmeans anyone, 誰にでも means to anyone. If you google it you'll find lots of examples of usage for this.

Using 年 by itself is fine. I've heard this expression before.

EDIT: for the Toshi example, I just did a simple search on google to show you the examples of how it's often used:
http://www.google.com.au/search?q=私も年だ&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t

生活を送る is a common expression. 送る has several meanings, and in this case it means to spend your daily existence.

For 「また迷ったりすることがあるのもしかたがあります」
The expression is not moshikata,
It's ga aru no MO shikata ga arimasen.
First of all, the "mo" means something like "also" but with an emphasis.
And shikata ga arimasen (not arimasu) means it cannot be helped.
"<noun>がある" can be translated "<noun>があること". Basically, the の turns 「時々寂しくなったり、また迷ったりすることがある」 into an adjective.

So the last part of the sentence would mean something like there'll be also situations where I felt lost but it can't be helped.

である is a more formal way of saying です.

BTW, for the 口がうまい/いい話をします thing, when I used "smooth talker" it was for the lack of a better word that I could think of. I guess smooth talker has usually more negative connotations (though not always) since we typically associate it with salesmen etc. Perhaps "glib" would be a better word since it's more neutral? Even for 口がうまい there could be negative connotations depending on the context.

Ah keong さん、suggest u jump straight to level 2 ikoma class if u already have JLPT 3 and 4 knowledge. don't waste time to go JCS study their intermediate.

yah, ~だい、~かい are not standard japanese, more like slang or はやってる言葉。
質問してる時に使われてる。
and if i remember correctly, mostly are used by ojisan and obasan
and for how to use it, i think、~かい は「い」の後ろに使われてるかな?
例えば、Terrajさんの例文通りに、「いいかい?」、と「なんだい?」
and i think かい is mostly used by females

Q2)いくら勉強してもすぐ忘れてしまう。私はもう年だ。
この文の「年」は何いう意味?ねんかとし?

もう年だ、Means already old. doesn't have to be really very old, the sentence meant that he want to say that he forgets easily, and is too old to study. usually comparing that he is older than the 相手 that he is talking to.
年寄り Means "the elderly"、So you can't say私はもう年寄りだ in this case, unless you really want to say that you are a senior citizen.

wah, good explanation :)
and i wanna add that, である is mostly used in written form, not usual speech

1)ano.....I'm still not sure when to use so****e and sorekara
テープを良く聞いてください。それから質問に答えてください。
ここで「そして」と「それでは」を使えませんか?

五時になりました。それからニュースを伝えします。
どうして「それでは」は間違いますか?

2)How to differentiate when to write 他の and 外の?

I think...

かい is used for yes/no questions : いいかい?
だい is used for where/what/how: どこいくんだい?

thanks for the advice!

i would like 2 share some of my boring history....
I had knowledge (no cert) near JLPT 2 during poly days....

then i went through Intensive Elementary at JCS last year and got my JLPT 4 (last dec)
now I am studying Basic 1-1 at Ikoma and planning 2 register Intermediate at JCS this december and prepare for JLPT 3 exam next year...

of course, all the courses I attended (except JLPT) were sponsored partially by my frriends who suggest we study 2gether...

so i just treat it at a form of revision.
on top of that, get 2 know more Japanese (teachers), more babes and more friends who are into Japanese Language like you all...

Its fun 2 know so many ppl in Singapore are sharing the same interest in japanese despite the Korean wave...

BANZAI.... :D
